His name was probably Crestus. He was a trouble maker and stirred up problems for the Romans. He was a political insurgent. His followers were renegade maverics.
He was sentenced to a political death sentence for insurrection. All government insurrectionists were crucified at this time, the time of Jewish slavery in the Roman empire.
This person did what many did in history while they were in slavery. Attempting to overturn the government, and helping the Jewish people free from oppression.
