I posted something last week regarding Jacob and Esau, from the OT
What do you think it means?

But my covenant I will establish with Isaac. Yet in the mercy of God before Jacob and Esau were even born. Jacob was chosen and Esau wasn't.

Rom 9:10-16
10 Not only that, but Rebekah's children had one and the same father, "our father Isaac".
11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad-- in order that God's purpose in election might stand:
12 not by works but by him who calls-- she was told, "The older will serve the younger."
13 Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."
14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!
15 For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
16 It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. (NIV)

We are all condemned therfore in spite of man's desire or effort, any man is saved ONLY by the grace of God. If we have a personal relationship with God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ it is NOT because of our worthiness but His worthiness only. We have no right to call God unjust.

And everybody who is a member of the visible church, whether it be Baptist, Pentacostal, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Orthodox, Christian and Missonary Alliance, or Lutheran etc. Is not necessarily a member of the spiritual church. Those who have been changed inwardly. And have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

2 Cor 13:5
5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-- unless, of course, you fail the test? (NIV)

The only thing the really counts is do you know Jesus Christ? That's for anybody.

I Jn 5:12
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (NIV)
