According to what you are saying, he is smarter than God.

So he is privy to God's future plan. God knows this. God knows everything. Yet does nothing. He allows Satan to create Mithraism (and Zoroastrianism and a whole lot of other religions), and then allows Christianity to borrow freely from these.

Jack: "Satan, being an angelic being with a great intelligence, it would be nothing for him to realize what God had in mind and create a counterfeit based upon God's plan to try to circumvent and discredit it."

And God, being an omniscient being didn't know this ? Or did and did nothing ?

This makes no sense Jack. I'm sorry. You either give Satan way too much credit, or you make God look ineffectual. Ultimately you made up a story. There is no scripture to support what you are saying. I would give you credit for creative thinking, if this was the first I had heard this "explanation".

But can you see how it makes God out to be less than All Powerful and makes Satan out to be smarter than God ?

Now, we both know I don't really believe this stuff. I don't totally reject it either -- but when I see a logical inconsistency like this -- it kind of puts the whole enchilada in disrepute.

1. It isn't scriptural.
2. It makes God look dumb.
3. It makes Satan look smart.

Somehow, it doesn't work from a Christian perspective. Or any perspective; other than that of a desperate apologist.
