I posted this on Shy's board, and was expecting it to be more provocative than it turned out. Oh well.

What I Left Behind...

Raised as a "Christian" in my much younger days
Taught to hate and despise any possessing unGodly ways
Judgement and mocking the skills often best taught
To be used against those that threatened the thought
Befuddled was I, the words held more meanings
But according to them, it was Satan warping my leanings

As I got older, and the agendas became clear
Many claiming to be "Christian", with "Christ" anything but near
Attaching their wagons to that sole sovereign name
Betting their lives on winning some worldly game
Themselves better "Christians" than their friends, and their brothers
Placing themselves above all, and especially those "others"
Responsible for one�s self, who�d even consider the thought
When Satan�s to blame for the evils they�ve brought

I�ve chosen to get out of that creepy sedition
And turn to better causes at the risk of perdition
The judgement and mocking, replaced by new druthers
As my missions now clear, and committed to others
And funny to me, that "Christian" or not
To many my opinion transitions from Godly to rot

So suddenly I�m judged, but is that really true
It occurs to me too, that I�m still judged as you
So content I will be, to live the best that I�m able
To help others when I can, strive myself to be stable
Anything else would be a mistake, at least just for me
And end up not much more than a judger of others you see
And that I won�t do, be me "Christian" or not
A lesson it seems, by one�s self can only be taught
