Subject: Hell is a place of separation

Those who are not reconciled with God through Jesus Christ in this life are in a temporal state of being separated from God. For the true Christian it is different.

Eph 2:11-13
11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh-- who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands--
12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For the true Christian who is in Christ in this life, can be assured he/she has eternal life.

I Jn 5:11-12
11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (NKJ)

While for the true Christian eternal life is assured, the one who does NOT have the Son of God does NOT have this life. Though it is a bleak message to to show the reality of hell, many do not agree their life is bleak. They have managed to construct what they would interpret as a meaningful life.
However, where they have deceived themselves and others is that they fail to realize one very important fact.

Matt 5:45b
45b for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (NKJ)

In this life God's goodness and wrath is bestowed on everybody. In the next life, wherever you have chosen to go, you will be devoid of one or the other and full of one or the other. You will either experience God's goodness only (heaven) forever, or God's wrath only in hell forever.

Jesus does not make His abode in hell but while we have life here in this world Jesus is the "LIGHT". You still have a chance for heaven.

John 1:9
9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. (NKJ)

Once who die, if without Christ you will be eternally separated from God with NO SECOND CHANCE.
Heb 9:27
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
