Author: Voice of Reason
Subject: Have A Little Faith Or Don't

(The scene is fuzzy, hazy around the edges. Almost as if the cameraman needs to wipe a thin coat of mist from the lense of the camera. A blurry shape is hunched before the camera, it's features, and identity, masked by the fog.)

Voice:No, I'm not some darky loving miscreant, or even a man of mystery.

(You can hear the smile on his face, feel it, despite not having the sights)

Voice:Matter of fact, there are a few here who might even remember me, for what I was once. A scant few,no doubt, but

(His voice trickles off in a weak chuckle)

Voice:Some in power might have a few bad memories of me. But the past is past, I'd say we're all the better for leaving it behind. I'm really here to talk about the future, which many of the stars, if you can call them that, of the GWA don't seem to think is too bright at all.

(He waves blurred hands in a rush)

Voice:Of course those are the kind of people that you'd have to stick a flashlight up there ass so their heads could see the light. Now don't get me wrong kiddies, the future isn't predicting blue skies and apple pies for anyone here, but christ in the heavens, we're professional wrestlers, not pilots and bakers. The path we have chosen in life doesn't take us down the f--in yellow brick road.

(A finger raises in front of the camera. He might be pointing, he might be flipping you off.)

Voice:I have watched GWA programming from my home down on the bayou, and aside from a few shining stars, it's been as exciting was watching two snails dance the horizontal bop. The heart that I have seen from this plave since DAY one, it's gone. I see our so-called stars in the ring, and they're sleepwalking?
Doesn't anyone here WANT this anymore?

(His head shakes slowly)

Voice:I look at what is happening, and I'd say no. This place was built on the blood and sweat of hundred of guys just ITCHING for the chance to climb that ladder, and this is what it boils down to? A few guys standing in the ring wrestling with each other like middle school children at their first DANCE? You expect the fans to cheer for you?
No sir, they will sit with their thumbs squarely plugging their butts, and watch in apathy as we do the dance of the giants in the ring. We have to give them a reason to cheer, a reason to boo, a reason to care.

(He grins, a white blur in the grey)

Voice:And the people here can sure as hell do it! I have seen it. Those people out there watching WANT to cheer, but they aren't going to do it unless they are given a damn reason. So what we're gonna do is fire it up, bring our f--kin game faces, and get back to what we have always done best, and that's get gladiatorial on some bitch ass. And for those of you out there in the lockerroom that ain't with me.

(He wipes away a small portion of the fog, allowing grey green eyes to peer through.)

Voice:Consider yourself marked. I'll be seeing you on Wednesday. And by the way, ladies, don't think you've heard the last of me. This is ONLY the beginning.

(The camera drops, allowing a brief shot of a reddish beard, but it's all too fleeting.)
