2018... it seems so far back that Borstal happened for me, 1977 to 1079, over 16 months because I legged hot from an open borstal.

I was 16 and really didn't know about life, certainly not being imprisoned and subjected to the Tortures of the block at Portland. Simply being locked up for 17 months was a shock to me. Did I deserve to be inside that long? perhaps thats open to debate.

However, Borstal was vicious, to a 16 year old boy it was more than frightening and Borstal only hardened me for the future.

On release I went home and had the m other of all hang ups about society. No help just a probation office telling w`ht I did in the past was wrong...

What I as a Borstal inmate went through is abuse and abuse from the government.

..... Isn't that why it was abolished in 1982?
