Hi Keith, just read your message my story was basicaly like yours the system did not change me I changed myself when I eventually had something I didn't want to loose and then started to care about myself....I kept a good work ethic for 41 years most of them in IT.
However I lost my job 6 years ago and believe it or not my past has caught up with me...the stupid CRB checks that now take place prohibit me getting back into IT and I know nothing else.
At 57 and not in the best of health with Diabetes and heart failure It's pretty damned tough I sometimes feel like going back to my old ways....but can't run fast enough now.
The govt. like to use the phrase social inclusion to make sure no one is pushed out of society....yet the CRB checks do push you out when it prohibits you from getting a decent job. Even after 41 years of having a clean record.

Best Regards
