a correction to my last posting re st williams. i was there from dec 63 TO JUNE 65, not from dec 64 to june 66 as previously stated. i remember well a lad WHOS SURNAME WAS jordan, his first name may have been john. he was a ginger haired slim lad. and the finest footballer i've ever seen, BILLY PICK from hexham. i got him a job in the kitchen with me but he never lasted long as he didn't like the work. i remember loads of lads names. anyone remember SPY?, a civvy with bulging eyes? i have read an earlier bit of mail on here about him.and who can forget ANN KELLY,the farmers daughter? she was every boys dream at that time and on a sunday in church all eyes were on her!one of the boys( a coloured lad )was seeing her for a long while. i think he's nick name was JAIMO.short for jaimeson i think.but he was a lucky bastard! and a lad from my home town of middlesbrough was the farmhand,he's name was JOHN HOLT. it was hard graft but he stuck it out all the way through.
