  • TXR Results - September 12, 2014 -- Mrs. TBH, 13:17:03 10/01/14 Wed
During 1st round of qualifying, Doug Morales and Kevin Hargett were the 2nd pair of cars down the track. Kevin got out of shape early and shut off and Doug got out of shape further down track and ended up hitting the opposite guardrail and flipping the car several times. Luckily Doug walked away from this accident but we were down for about an hour and a half repairing the guardrails and cleaning up. It was decided to finish the round of qualifying that was in the lanes and then start eliminations since we were pressed for time.

    1. Gaylen Smith – 4.237 at 135 mph
    2. Rodney Parks – 4.453 at 151 mph
    3. Kevin Hargett – 4.473 at 172 mph
    4. Jim Brinkerhoff – 4.657 at 119 mph
    5. HT Wilson – 4.685 at 151 mph
    6. Charles Letteer – 5.120 at 99 mph
    7. Chuck Poindexter – 5.279 at 149 mph
    8. James Satterwhite – 5.429 at 135 mph
    9. Darren Inman – 5.691 at 138 mph
    10. Rickey Cate – 5.765 at 97 mph
    11. Jay Ligon – 6.396 at 90 mph
    12. Steve Wiley – 11.434 at 28 mph (broke blower belt at the hit)
    13. Doug Morales – 4.598 at 130 mph (Hit finish line cones & crashed)

    Round 1:

    HT Wilson (W) 4.755 at 135 mph (.047 RT)
Jim Brinkerhoff (RU) 4.766 at 120 mph (.039 RT)

This was one of the closest races on paper and the track. The margin of victory was .003

    Charles Letteer (W) 4.900 at 122 mph (.169 RT)
    Kevin Hargett (RU) NT

    Rodney Parks (W) 4.332 at 163 mph (.049 RT)
Chuck Poindexter (RU) 5.059 at 119 mph (.148 RT)

    Gaylen Smith (W) 4.580 at 163 mph (.195 RT)
James Satterwhite (RU) 4.572 at 151 mph (.262 RT)

This was another close race. Smith is in and out of the throttle and Satterwhite is keeping pace. Gaylen wins with the last whop, on a holeshot.

    Round 2:

Gaylen Smith (W) 4.055 at 176 mph (.170 RT) **Low ET**
HT Wilson (RU) 7.403 at 67 mph (.003 RT)

HT left first but it was over before the sixty foot mark. Smith makes a nice run taking the round win.

    Rodney Parks (W) 4.372 at 162 mph (.081 RT)
Charles Letteer (RU) 5.095 at 103 mph (.092 RT)

I didn’t see this race because I was on the return road picking Gaylen up.

    Finals:

    Gaylen Smith (W) 4.080 at 177 mph (.183 RT) ** Top MPH**
    Rodney Parks (RU) NT

When the amber fell, Smith was the only one who left the starting line. Not sure what the problem was for Parks but Gaylen made another nice clean run.

Congratulations to Gaylen Smith and the entire Texas Bounty Hunter team. Hard work is definitely paying off. Congratulations to Rodney Parks and his team as well for their runner-up finish.

I just got home and read the post from below n I honestly think its a very Coward Post, Your not a Racer nor or you a Crew Chief, Real Racers would not bash a track, they would actually try and fiqure it out with what they have to deal with(good or Bad)we all haft to go down no matter where we at ( kennedale,Denton, Thunder Valley, Baton Rouge, San Antonio,Hmp,) wherever is my point, there had beens issues at all these tracks plus more and we as racers have delt with them and raced, Cowards complaine and post stuff like this on message boards insted of calling Me or tha track to solve it, when we pull in gate we gotta tune for what we have or the money trains will run us all over

  • Not really the one to get on here and bash tracks and talk negative about people but Jesus Christ seems like Texas Raceway or should I say Kennabelly or Texas Wreck way or Texas No Prep way. Why does it take a guy wrecking his Pro Mod for you guys to halfway decently prep the track. Texas Raceway is a joke and quite frankly I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that there is never a TOPMA points race at this shit hole again. You guys should be ashamed of yourself. I have a simple solution for you either spend the money to prep the track for us to run or don't open your gates to us. We work to damn hard to get these cars together to come to a shit hole and wreck them because the owners are to damn cheap to prep the place. Never returning and I hope TOPMA doesn't either -- NT (Boiling Hot), 01:32:16 09/20/14 Sat

  • TXR Results - August 8th -- Mrs. TBH, 19:41:08 08/10/14 Sun
On a HOT August night, nine pro-mod teams showed up to play in the heat. After two rounds of qualifying here’s how everything unfolded.
    #1 Gaylen Smith – 4.070 at 175 mph
    #2 Bob Alexander – 4.118 at 181 mph
    #3 Steve Wiley – 4.186 at 172 mph
    #4 Rodney Parks – 4.328 at 164 mph
    #5 Doug Morales – 4.387 at 166 mph
    #6 Kevin Hargett – 4.444 at 174 mph
    #7 Eddie Roach – 4.563 at 144 mph
    #8 Charles Letteer – 4.565 at 130 mph
    #9 Chuck Poindexter – 4.634 at 154 mph

    First Round:

    Chuck Poindexter (W) 4.646 at 154 mph (.068 RT)
Rodney Parks (RU) 4.654 at 131 mph (.070 RT)

Chuck Poindexter gets the upset win who was filling in for Doug Morales who sheared off the converter bolts during 2nd round qualifying. This was a close race on paper and on the track. Both cars left together with Poindexter having a slight advantage and he takes the win.

    Bob Alexander (W) 4.216 at 139 mph (.068 RT)
Eddie Roach (RU) 5.409 at 111 mph (.166 RT)

    Gaylen Smith (W) 4.040 at 177 mph (.369 RT) ** Low ET**
Charles Letteer (RU) 4.399 at 150 mph (.273 RT)

Steve Wiley (W) 4.121 at 184 mph (.114 RT) **Top MPH**
Kevin Hargett (RU) 4.577 at 166 mph (.049 RT)

    Semi Finals:

    Bob Alexander (W) 4.074 at 180 mph (.021 RT)
Steve Wiley (RU) 4.154 at 180 mph (.026 RT)

Another very close race on paper and on the track.

    Gaylen Smith (W) 4.070 at 158 mph (.141 RT)
Chuck Poindexter (RU) 7.518 at 87 mph (-.017 RT) Red light start

Chuck knew he red lit and lifted giving Gaylen the automatic win who was on a nice pass. Both Gaylen and Bob ran 4.07’s in the semi’s which was setting up for a nail biting side by side final round….

    Finals:

    Bob Alexander (W) (.486 RT)
Gaylen Smith (RU) 7.518 at 87 mph (-.332 RT)
Side by side it was not. Gaylen’s transbrake didn’t hold. As soon as he got on the two-step the car started creeping and I was the one biting my nails hoping the tree came on before the car rolled out of the beams. Alexander was having problems of his own in the Smith Motorsports lane. He accidentally hit the chutes button and his chutes deployed on the starting line so he shut it off for the win.

Congratulations to Bob Alexander and the rest of the crew on your first TOPMA win! Congrats to Gaylen Smith and Team TBH as well for the runner-up finish.

Sorry for the late posting but Friday night was a special night for Team TBH. Our daughter got engaged after 2nd round qualifying. The rest of the night was a blurr to me! The weather cooperated so it wasn't blistering hot. Ten teams showed up and here's how everything unfolded:

    #1 Gaylen Smith - 4.029 at 188 mph
    #2 Rodney Parks - 4.272 at 174 mph
    #3 Doug Morales - 4.360 at 174 mph
    #4 Kevin Hargett - 4.392 at 172 mph
    #5 Perry Dunn - 4.460 at 157 mph
    #6 Steve Wiley - 4.503 at 141 mph
    #7 Chuck Poindexter - 4.554 at 151 mph
    #8 Charles Letteer - 5.228 at 98 mph
    #9 Tim Cruce - 6.040 at 116 mph
    #10 Jay Ligon - 6.904 at 55 mph

    First round:

    Doug Morales (W) 4.297 at 177 mph (.030 RT)
Steve Wiley (RU) 4.869 at 114 mph (.085 RT)

    Kevin Hargett (W) 4.435 at 166 mph (.192 RT)
    Perry Dunn (RU) No Time

Unfortunately for Perry, his chute fell out on the starting line and was unable to make the run. Kevin gets a competition bye.

    Rodney Parks (W) 5.026 at 98 mph (.409 RT)
    Tim Cruce (RU) No Time

Tim's borrowed car wouldn't fire in the staging lanes giving a competition bye to Rodney. Tim was filling in for Chuck Poindexter who wounded the car during qualifying.

    Gaylen Smith (W) 4.557 at 110 mph (.080 RT)
Charles Letteer (RU) 9.302 at 63 mph (-.372 RT) RED LIGHT

Charles knew he red lit and lifted, Gaylen cruised on thru for the win.

    Semi Finals:

Doug Morales (W) 4.153 at 174 mph (.015 RT) **Best Reaction Time**
Rodney Parks (RU) 4.244 at 175 mph (.073 RT)

Gaylen Smith (W) 3.975 at 181 mph (.123 RT) **Low ET & Top MPH**
Kevin Hargett (RU) 5.066 at 126 mph (.040 RT)

    Finals:
