Subject: Piercing call is given as obsidian colored racer parades towards the track, causing quite a commotion...

This trouble however, is much to the pleasure of the crowd who cheer at the horse's antics. The rider, Briar, is used to the before race crisis and ignores it. The ebony brute tosses his fine head and with it comes the jingle of silver. A flick of a full plushed tail is given. Rounding into full view of the stands (another roar of appreciation is given) the horse stands in the pure light, giving complete vision of his staggering wonder. Glossy midnight coat is at full glory in the morning sun, giving off a sheen like Hawaiian water, and rippling muscles lie underneath. Bridle is of finely woven, yet strong, cloth. A silver pelum bit sets off the four legger’s mouth. Tassels line the reins and saddle blanket and one pair dangles near the steed’s forelock. The saddle is beautiful, an ancient type (not actually old itself) traveling one, but great for racing. Shrill scream of excitement is emitted through beasts nostrils, piercing crisp air, tense with expectancy, and he prances to the side, pistons kicking high, tearing ruts in the dew covered grass. A copper skinned boy sits ’pon the steeds back, in what is dubbed the “bug-boy crouch”. Reins are short as the charcoal haired thief is standing and is leaned forward. Pop in the maw of the stud is given, causing instant pandemonium. Charger rears ’pon strong hind legs, clawing the sky, trying to rip down the pastel dawn colors. Calmness is recovered and boy and mount make their way towards the start line with occasional sidesteps from the ridden one. ’Pon arrival at the line, which was simply drawn with a willow stick in the soil, boy halts the stallion, tensing, and shortening the twin leathers (reins) more. Saw is given on bit while squeeze while heal pressure is added, causing the race horse to champ nervously on the bit and tense, preparing for the spring forward. Both rider and steed were focused entirely on the start; both picked up the fast track, dust clouds (though they were nothing their sharp eyes couldn't handle), wind direction; all the little details were important. If you weren’t ready either the horse would be left standing and those few, precious seconds that were gone forever could very well mean your loss, or the jockey would be left floating in the air; of course, seconds later he would be on the turf, watching his steed take off rider less. That was why you had to be ready, alert, and the both were; any second now the gunshot would come, declaring the start.

OCC-I was using a drawn line since this is medevil; there wouldn't be starting gates, although it is a curved track.
