Oh, I'm sorry. It's just that I saw the name Pilgrim Soul at the tag end of a theory on the website that I thought that name was just another name for you. Well, please let her know that I appreciate her theories.

I agree with this. Over the summer, whenever I saw people post about Darla it was always: ooh, she'll hook up with Wolfram and Hart to get back at Angel or she'll kidnap Cordy and the rest of Angel Investigations to get back at Angel. Not to knock these ideas, but they were annoying to read because they just showed Darla as all black hat, no regard for the change she went through by being vamped the second time around. I honestly believe that there has been a change in Darla 2.0 because in Redefinition she was definitely showing emotion towards Angel in a way she hadn't before she was staked in Buffy Season 1.

I think she is special just in the fact that she was resurrected as a human then turned back into a vampire. There are not that many beings in the Buffy/Angelverse who can claim to that status. Maybe that's key to her being able to get pregnant?

I'll also say this that even though Darla was treated as all black hat in Reprise, she was definitely not given the black-hat treatment in Epiphany. The camera and the script spent an inordinate amount of time on Darla's intense pain after Angel's rejection of her. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I don't think Darla's response to Angel will be wanting revenge. I spent a fair amount of time grumbling and cursing Angel in Epiphany because he did to Darla what all those men might have done to her back when she was a prostitute. Angel's behavior might have reinforced Darla's bitter opinion of men, that they all want to use her as a sex object and nothing more.

In Hearthrob, the sleazy guy who offers Darla a drink even when she says no gets bitten, not because she was hungry, but because he *hit on* her and was obviusly out to use her for sex if she had been human. Most likely I'm reaching and being way too rationalistic on this interpretation of Darla's actions towards the sleazy guy, but it's a thought I've had regarding the kind of people Darla bites.

I've always thought of Darla as a woman who has pride in herself. When she's been humilated, she hates going back to the person who has humilated her. More than any other, aside from Wolfram and Hart, Angel humiliated her in the most painful way and I wouldn't have been surprised if she would have stayed away from LA if she hadn't become pregnant.
