I was referring to things like, "Oh it's time to change the baby's diaper.. ahhhh it's smelly!!" Or, "Annn-ggeelllllll.. the baby's throwing up *again*!!"

Stuff like that just grows very old very quickly for me.. Yet it's almost an assurance whenever there's a new baby on any TV show..

But yes, as long as they don't have Angel all happy-go-lucky, skipping in the fields over having a son, I am definitely looking forward to that interaction!! Anyone else want the new theme song to be Creed's "With Arms Wide Open".. ; ) (Sooooo LOVE that song!)

And I agree with keeping the baby here as a baby, but only for now. I could very well be pleasantly surprised, but I personally don't see how we could keep the baby around, as it is, for *that* long.. Certainly not the rest of the series IMO. Entirely speculation on my part, but I don't see the baby knowing this world (at least not as the seemingly normal baby it is now) for very long..

I can be just a *leetle* blunt huh?? ; )

Hmmmmm.. I wonder what exactly you consider Dork!Angel to be then.. As I said, I personally didn't see him at all in "Lullabye." His characterization was a return to norm, if you will..
If you like, I'll explain my version.. (this may get slightly ranty in places, as it's a rather sore spot for me. Just a fair warning!! *g*) In previous years, Angel was drawn as a character who was very intelligent, well read, had an appreciation for classical music and art work, practiced something as beautiful as Tai C'hi. He was always a bit of a pragmatist.. always thinking his actions through to weigh any possible consequences. Overall, he had this wonderful quiet intensity about him, in everything he did.
Once his epiphany occured however, he seemed to lose all these (for me, beloved) traits and layers, seemingly in favor of making him appeal to the general public (as opposed to the existing devout genre fans perhaps??) He became a stereo-typical action hero.. super strong (unless of course Crouching Cordelia hits him.. cause that gives him black n' blues and swolen noses.. *rolls eyes*), though not always or necessarily the most intelligent guy, who saves the people in need. All of a sudden he knows all about pop-culture.. he plays Nintendo. When Cordy offered to patch him up (in "Fredless"), he all but squealed with joy and *bounded* over to her.. He suddenly worries if he looks fat, or gets upset if his friends say "less than nice" things about him. He has apparently lost *ANY* and *ALL* appreciation for consequences lately.. "Billy's" being burned alive for all eternity for the (as Skip warned Angel) horrible things he did, but all Angel can see is Poordy's health is deteriorating. He doesn't even stop to think it over, he just acts and does anything necessary to free Billy (thereby saving Poordy). What's even worse is the follow-up however. Even knowing the potential for evil in Billy, Angel and the FG do **NOTHING** about the problem. It took a vision (which was a whole *week* late) from the friggin' PTB to get them to open their eyes to the problem they created. Even better, Angel (correctly) tells Cordy Billy's "murders" weren't her fault, but then follows with denying his own responsibility???? Lemme get this straight here.. the writers have Angel take full responsibility for Angelus' past actions, and have written it so that the Downward Spiral/Beige Arc was all but *entirely* Angel's fault and he alone was responsible, but Billy, an act in which Angel took direct blind action was not *at all* Angel's fault. . . . *confuddled*

And I guess I got really ranty towards the end huh?? ; )

Anyway, now I'm certainly not denying other fan's rights to have Angel grow and change and whatnot, if that's their wish. I personally don't see anything really wrong (aside from not feeling all that comfortable around other people and the self-confidence in part from the demon problem) with his past characterization (I guess I mean personality-wise perhaps??), but if they want to give him more and more layers, hey.. go for it.
The current problem I'm having however, is that they're giving Angel more and different layers, at the (complete and utter IMO) expense of the old ones. No matter how closely I've searched (up until the very very end of "Offspring" at least), I can find no traces of my beloved Original Angel to enjoy.. It's pretty much all Dork!Angel that I can see..

And OK, enough ranting for one night! ; )

>post it if you have the time.

Ack.. I'll have to go searching, as it seems I erased it! *pouts* Oh well, if I can't find it I'll just type it up again.. though that may take a while! *g* Stupid college. . . . Work.. studying.. bah!! ; )
