Personally, I think the U.S. music industry/scene "bites" bigtime!  Everything is based on a formula for what "sells" right down to what you watch on these award shows!

If you want to hear anything truly "different", you have to surf the web, leave the country,etc...  This country's music industry is limited and skewed to the few artists who "fit the formula".

There is so much more wonderful music being created every second of every day that we never get to hear on the airwaves or see in music stores.

Every once in a while we get someone extraordinary like "Anggun" (from Indonesia) who had the hit "Snow on the Sahara".  She debuts in the U.S. a couple years ago...BIG buzz about her music from the industry... and God only knows where she is now?  She is a major hit  everywhere else, but here.

(Acutally, I had her CD two years before her debut in this country, only because a friend of mine was traveling in Japan, happened to see her CD... listened to it...liked it and sent it to me.)

So...I say "Great!", for the artists who make it in this U.S. industry; that is not an easy thing to do. But the same people, and the same *formulaic* music wins every year...  and to me...That sucks! :madgo:

Grrrrrrrrrr!
