Bread of Life
The concept that �man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God� came as a response to Satan�s attempt to tempt Jesus Christ to turn stones into breads. There is a relationship with the followings concepts, the bread of life, the words of God, and Christ himself. These elements focused on Christ�s mission and the plan of salvation.
Christ taught his audiences with parables, symbols, and concepts. When Christ was tempted in the wilderness, he responded in a way that ties together the idea of satisfying human appetite and spiritual satisfactions. Men not �live by bread alone, but by every word� and in the book of John this word is Christ, and that through Christ we gain eternal life and full satisfaction of our spiritual hunger.
Part of his teaching, Christ referred to the bread that fell in the dessert during the 40 years journey in the wilderness called Manna, that sustained the Jews for a long time. In John 6, Christ used the manna from heaven metaphorically, stating in verse 32 that �� my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.� That bread he declared in verse 33 �For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.� Then in verse 35, he said �And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger�� Christ is that bread of life, in other words, through him, Christ is the ultimate satisfaction of our soul and our eternal destiny.
The following verses, Christ said that his hands open wide and shall not throw any one out, nor forsaken anyone that come to him. He is the way, the truth, and the life and he is the only way that we can return to the father.
I know that besides satisfying our human needs, we must also seek that bread of life. The only decision that I made that I never regret is my decision to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and accept Christ. As the youngest of five boys, I have seen my brothers enjoying worldly life, never go to church and never acknowledged that life is more than just living life like that. The moment I had the decisions with the Elders, I knew that what they taught me was true, and that the only way to get eternal life is to accept Christ. I then chose to baptize without the consent of my parents. I know I have achieve that the only have the bread of life is to enter the water of baptism
