LNS is partly right... Mariah wrote her songs and while writing them... she already have in her mind how she would sing them. Regine's dynamics is not parallel with Mariah's take note of the word Parallel not at par. They are too different to even be compared. Range pareho (except for the whistles) I have heard regine sing through the rain and butterfly so many times.... they never change.... may hingal talaga na di maiiwasan... its becvause of the vocal dynamics. Mariah would sound less hingal kasi... her voice has more asthmatic overtone... and more husk. The texture can pretty well cover that. Pero pareho lang sila... you can see that both of them feel the stress on the high notes... but they have their own way of dealing with it. But it would be unfair for you to comment that Mariah couldn't do it live. You guys should know better. Di naman nya isusulat yun kung di nya kaya. Any singer can choose not to do it whenever they feel like. Mariah Sang My saving Grace live here in Manila. She hit hit her highest full notes. Solid pa rin. Mariah sang butterfly live in David letterman... it sounded great... kasi she knows her dynamics. She uses the background vocal efficiently too. Nahirapan si regine kasi kinanta nya lahat.. totoo she hit every note.. akala mo susuka ng piano .... but it was rather stressful than pleasant. Pero, sobrang ganda ng rendition nya ng Come In Out of the Rain. kasi mas bagay yung kanta sa vocal styling nya. Swabe dating hanggang sa pinaka mataas. Bottom line is...as LNS said... may binabagayan ang kanta. Mariah sounded bad so many times... but we cannot deny that she sounded great live at so many times as well. Who would forget Hero at Madison Square Graden, I'll Be there, VOL. regine as well have her glory moment... and had had a share of booboos as well. Author: shanikwa [ Edit | View ] Date Posted: 17:09:17 07/21/04 Wed Author Host/IP: 209-203-66-2.gen.twtelecom.net/209.203.66.2 problema sa inyo, compare nyo kaagad si regine sa kay mariah. well i guess you can't help it cause regine is singing mariah's songs. pero wag nyo namang sabihin na pale ang version ni regine compared to mariah's (LNS). in fairness naman kay regine, maganda naman ang versions nya of mariah's songs kahit papano. it's just a matter of preference, and i personally prefer regine's way of singing mariah's songs. kasi di ko feel 'yong masyadong mahangin na boses. mas gusto ko 'yong mostly full voice ang ginagamit sa pagkanta, or at least pinong headtone voice, hindi 'yong airy na headtone voice.
