It's National Arts Month this February and SOP celebrates this special day with guests like PhilHarmonic Orchestra to back them up.
To formally open up the show, the hosts sang novelty songs such as "Spaghetti" (Lani), "Mr. Suave" (Janno), "Laban-Bawi" (Regine), forgot what Ogie did, and "Bulaklak" (Jaya). Am glad that Jaya did this song. She entertained the audience with her playfulness.
The show invited artists to draw the birthday boy, Jay-R. Once again, he sang his hit song, "Bakit pa ba?". This time he's backed up by a group of singers. After the song, Janno and Ogie teased Kyla. By the way, the artworks were aunctioned to texters.
In the Back2Back2Back segment, Janno did "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan". Was amazed with Lani's interpretation of "Mutya ng Pasig". Her voice really complimented the song well (and with that, she earned a photo in my avatar). Jaya interpreted "Ikaw Lamang ang Aking Iibigin". Our Songbird sang "Kahit Konting Pagtingin". I wish Janno and Reg exchanged songs though. Janno's husky voice would really suit this song while Reg's soothing voice would surely be a lullaby. Anyhoo, Ogie did "Mapayapang Daigdig". Almost felt it was Christmas again.
An Argentinian actor named Segundo and a beautiful Filipina named Izza topbills a new telenovela, "Te Amo". It would start this Monday and some of the cast invited the televiewers to watch it. The theme song, "Maging Sino Ka Man", was sung by Arnie Hidalgo and Nyoy Volante.
Judy Ann Santos promoted her PLDT touchcard series. I remember Gary V and Jolina having done the same thing years back. Janno and Ogie told Juday to come back and join the show.
HotSpot features Ruffa Mae again dancing a different "Maglalatik", a folkdance with coconut shells, with a trimmer JoMari.
In a medley of Ogie's compositions, Ogie and Regine sang "Hanggang Ngayon", "Magpakailanpaman", and "Sa Piling Mo".
