Good question. Go over to the Regine Matrix site
and ask over there. ( reginevelaquez@net ) Bring it up
to the people who are claiming they are directly connected
to the song bird and find out. Its a good question too. I
thought the album was coming out soon myself. Get back to
us when you hear something.

Check this out gang.. remember when they were looking for
a finance backing for the album project? A small group of
businessmen were planning on meeting in to see if they can
take part on it. But then the word came down that Maxi-
media will handle most of it. Smart move. If all they needed
was to sell double-platinum then they are going to be big
winners on that album. That one should go better than Reg's
DRAWN and last album. Which both passed 6x platinum.*

According to insider's estimates. *

It is sad if it won't push through.

Good point to bering up there.

But HEY, I brought this story up a few years ago.
I told fans in the mailing list about Viva squeezing
all they can from Regine without giving any thought
of her real importance to the music world but noo..

Fans didn't want to hear any of it. As usual.

Then I said the least we could do is push for the
release of R2K in Asia. I even said they were thinking
about it and all that was needed was fans attention and
concern for that project. But it went no where. It died
with the post of that one bird brain of a list monitor.

And here we are today, Joe from NY
What can I say? We done it to ourselves
and to our artist. We let others do the thinking
for us and they only cared about themselves. Sorry
to say.

Meanwhile, it is still cool to know that even when
Regine is performing below par or her movies aren't
up to the usual outstanding stuff that both her music
soundtrack and movies are still blockbusters! Her album
which left the chart a few weeks ago is climbing back into
the top then and her movie.. well, everyone heard it was
the big grosser. But no one seems to have the numbers to
it. Anyone seem or heard anything about the actual movie
gross? Amazing how they can keep it out of the media when
its suppose to be a movie festival.

As for Regine's movie career I rather see her call it quits
If the other alternative move would be to do one of those
drama or lousy adult fare that everyone else seems to do.

Our movie industry really deserves to die its natural death.
Regine shouldn't be just one of those saving it every few years.

:-)
TV drama is a different thing I believe. But I don't watch
them unless I'm forced to.

Ok, skip the love story. I just hope her movies stay
wholesome and family oriented.

I don't think that Regine is keen on pushing for a career in the US. The main thing that is holding her back is the prospect of failing. She's also concerned that once she goes back, there will be no career waiting for her in the Philippines. In her interview in Channel News Asia, Regine reveals that she is afraid to start all over again.

You must remember, that every single Filipino artist that tried it in the US came back here with no career to speak of.

I think that we must reassure Regine that we will still be here even if she fails in the US. I do not expect her to fail, but let's face it, she will be facing an uphill climb if she decides to push it there.

I am not expecting that the Le Grand album will push her career in the US. I just want to see her do albums that have been well conceptualized and well produced. I don't think she can penetrate the American scene. The American music industry is so big...country, jazz, pop, reggae, rap, gospel... She is also running out of time. The thing is most singers here also compose their own music. Regine can't. I don't mean to sound NEGATIVE.
The reality is... in Philippine showbiz, you have to strike and strike while the iron is hot. Have concert every month, have concerts everywhere, have weekly shows, have quickie albums, have movies every 3 months.
The public patronize it anyway...and let the artistry suffer.

That's why when Regine comes back here to perform, she should offer more because she will suffer in comparison.

No doubt, Regine is a gifted singer. Even my patient here (she is Black) liked her. I played her RETRO album while she was receiving treatment and she was amazed how good she is. She compared her to Vanessa Williams (who I don't like) and Christina Aguilera.

And if Regine will really give up the opportunity to work with LeGrand, it will be a big mistake.

Let's see what happens next!

I don't care if you don't think she can make it there. My point is that she should at least try. She is talented and I think she will have a place in the international music scene. But it will take courage on her part to risk her career in the Philippines for that.( As I've said, we should reassure her that she will not lose her career in the Philippines if she pushes for the US)

There were several points in her career when she had the chance to push it in the US, but it did not materialize. I'm beginning to think that she is too scared of failing.(I hope I'm wrong)
