Hello to all,
Now, I will start out by saying that I am not the smartest, oldest, or wealthiest (actually probably close to poorest)person in Maryville. I know Jed, and quite frankly, I agree with his posts. I have no problem with any of the things that Jason has said, everyone is entitled to their own view. Some of Kevin's comments, I must admit, offended me to some degree, but from what I understand, Kevin is not even in the country right now (this is just what I heard), but I am not one to post single-minded e-mails under a false identity either. What really kills me is that, in a town of what, 13,000*, that a local "punk" band can stir up so much disdain and offense that more than 10 people would post their thoughts and feelings on the matter. I think I may be able to shed some light on why all of this has come to be. When our band first got our website up and running, an anonymous person named "Hatey McHatesalot" (a very good alias I must admit) wrote in our guestbook quite a few times recommending, among other things, that we kill ourselves because we sucked sooooo bad. Now fast forward about 3 months. On a complete whim, Chris Hooper, our new lead singer looked up a Battle of the Bands thing on the NWMSU webpage. This brought up several links, one of which was yours. Imagine our dismay when we found so many parallels drawn from Kevin's entry to "Hatey's". Although we were a bit upset, I can vouch for myself and my bandmates that none of us have written any entries into your guestbook/message board. In fact, this whole thing was brought up to me by Jed at the Pub no more than a week ago. Now, as to all the capitalism problems that seem to be flying around, I know for a fact that I play in the band for fun, I don't expect anything more than what we do now. I am a Industrial/Organizational Psych major, and with how bad the economy/job market is at the present I may take an extra 4 years to graduate with my FIRST degree, all in hopes that I may some day be economically viable. So to those that bash age and school length, you may want to think about your own situation a little further. In summation, I can honestly say that this whole thing has gotten comletely out of hand, the only person that I even really know is Jed, and when our friendship is threatened by a bunch of anonomous assholes, then it is time for someone that actually step up and notice that everyone is acting a bit intolerant. I myself could have come to this site, just to respond to all the things that are now written, but why spew more shit(for lack of a better term) when we can actually try to clear this thing up. All responses are welcome at dirklance420@hotmail.com, seischen@aol.com,s201472@mail.nwmissouri.edu, or just post another on the messageboard, as I plan to check back frequently to try and end this sophomorical arguement.
P.S. Most of the things on the music page are right on target, especially the part about Fred Durst "eating a big bowl of dick"
I hope this can finally stop,
Rob Eischen, bass player, Prank Monkey
