I'm SO glad you popped in here!
I guess I have heard before, somewhere, that people believe the Bible teaches not to become involved with these aspects of the spirit realm. Personally, I doubted it -- why would God be against us connecting to such wonderful God-given gifts as our Guardian Angel, for example? For me, at least, the spirituality such gifts have led to makes me feel closer to our Creator -- further, I'll admit, from the man-made dogma of the Catholic Church, but much closer and even more understanding of Christ. But, my doubts about that teaching were strictly logic-based; I'm afraid I've never really read very much of the Bible itself.
But it certainly sounds as though you know your Word... and yet, have an open mind regarding your gifts... an important and, I think, pretty rare combination. And, it makes you the perfect person to help me with this conundrum (hope you don't mind)!
It seems to me that there MUST be a misinterpretation or, as you suggest, mistranslation, or something! I would really very much like to try to understand... Would you be so kind as to take some time to explain a bit about exactly how the Bible addresses such matters??
