Subject: Black stallion gallops hard

Running from wolves was not his dream, but he liked to stay alive. Flank bleeds after being scrathced and bit. He gallops towards a fence and launches forwards. He lands and stops. Noticing his mistake he swereves trying to get out, but finding that impossible. He rears and gallops towards the other side but finding that unable to jump. He rears his ears flat against his cranium.

The leg crumples under him and he falls to the ground with a crash. He rolls over to his back and then his other side. He moved the injured leg finding able to move he sighed happily. Then he remembered the predicament he was in. He rolled to his other side and fumbled up tdo a standing position. His leg was not on the ground. His eyes were scared and he was coated in lather.

[> Careful Approach -- Josh, 13:14:24 01/29/02 Tue

After cleaning tack for long hours and hearing a sharp whistle of a equine that was not familar to this ranch he places the fancy western show saddle back on the rack and sets down the soap. Seeing the great ebon steed stand, blood stained his great flank and injured limb hung listless. Josh runs and grabs i few carrots and lasso and haulter with a leadshank. WAlking back carefully he unhooks the gate to the pasture that no other horses were currently in. Mac and joe were off with their studs. And the mares were already brought in for the day. He eyed the magnificant steed with wonder and looked closly at the great gash in his flank. *wolves* he mummered. Blood seemed to come from a gash in his fore as well. Carefully he approched the steed, eyes glaning at his shoudler and lasso in hand.

[> [> Whistle -- Shalidar, 16:26:05 01/29/02 Tue

The stallion head went up as he tried to rear. His forefeet went up into the air but he crashed back down remembering his hurt leg. He bared his teeth and backed up a step, but stopped as pain washed through his legs.

[> Calm -- Josh, 17:24:33 01/29/02 Tue

Backing up as the steed made his efforts and viewimg him fall to the ground welded a gut wrenching know in his stomach, no horse should go through this. He talked in a calm soothing voice to the steed *Its alright, I'm not going to hurt you, easy boy.* And repeated himself several times over. Extending his arm once more he proceeded to help stud with his problem. The great black was a magnifcant looking beast, and great confermation, but something was badly needed to cure the problem with his leg or he could severly hurt himself.

[> [> *Walks Over* -- Mac, 15:40:16 01/30/02 Wed

Mac - *He watches for a moment then slowly climbs under one of the fence logs. He walks over to Josh. He looks the stud over for a moment without touching him then looks at Josh* You need to get him standing and get that leg fixed. *He calls to Joe to bring the small tin kit hanging on the wall of the barn. Once he does He digs out a dart gun. He perp. a small dart to put the stud under* I'm going to dart him, So we can move him alittle easyer. We can get him in the barn and in a stall so he will be off it. Then we will call out Doc. Mitchell.

[> [> [> Uneasy -- Josh, 18:22:27 01/30/02 Wed

*You sure thats the only way you can get him. Why not leave him out here. He's a herd stallion, he'll flip in a stall, its better to keep them in the open. I've delt with an incident like this before, trust me i broke my arm when i put the stud in that stall and tried to help him. Long story, but you'll wanna take my advice, have Joe call the vet and me and you can work with him and the injuries.* He looks up at Mac hoping he would take his advice, then looking back at the steed he wondered why he had come to the ranch in the first place. Hoping that the stud would stay at the ranch after recoperating, even if he got that far, something intrugued him about the midnight steed.

[> [> Threw up his head -- Shalidar, 19:19:27 01/30/02 Wed

His leg hang limply at his side and he tried to rear again. He shook his head shavagely so as they couldnm't get the rops around his neck. Then he saw the gun. That did it. He reared up to his full hieght and crashed back down again. The pain in his leg was unbearable but he tolerated it. He reared up again forelegs slashed out and a defiant whistle shot threw the air. He landed and and backed up. Rearing again he charged at the humans. Going at a full gallop, teeth bared he swereved before he hit them and kicked out, kicking mainly at the gun. He gallope across the feild and stood defiant. His scream surronded through they air.

[> [> [> *Nods* -- Mac and co, 19:55:10 01/30/02 Wed

Mac - *He moves out of the stallions way.* We will leave him here, Joe has called the vet and she will be here in a few minutes. But we have to dart him or we won't be able to get two feet from him. The Doc will dart him anyway. So we might as well do it so she won't get hurt. *He aims and shoots. The dart lands in the studs shoulder. He looks at his watch* He should be out in less then a minute. And once he is out, We have to work fast. He can't be on his side long.

Dr. Lura Mitchell - *She pulls in and walks towards the paddock. She climbs under the fence and in with them. She walks over to Mac and Josh* So this is the stud that Joe was yelling about? *She looks at him* Have you darted him yet?

Silk - *The creme mare watches from the paddock next to them. She hangs her head over the fence and whickers to the stud.*

[> [> [> [> Shudders -- Shalidar, 15:34:46 01/31/02 Thu

He reared once the dart hit him and fell down, he crashed to the ground on his hurt side and he bellowed his pain. The last thing he saw was the mare.

[> [> [> [> Greets -- Josh, 15:40:08 01/31/02 Thu

He glances at silk and then turns to Dr.Mitchell, nerves paralize him somewhat. *Ye-yeah, Mac just darted him. Looks like wolves attacked him, his haunch looks pretty tender but not too bad, a few stiches and meds should fix that up but he looks like he pulled a tendon or something in his left fore. He can hardly walk.* He looks back at the steed who now seemed to be a little drowsy from the dart and wobbled slightly from the sedadtive.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Soothes -- Josh, 07:21:31 02/01/02 Fri

Turning to the steed he talks calming trying to soothe him as best he could, these next few days were going to a bit different for the wild stallion. Having one new stud was hard enough to get him use to the fact of being in a paddock, but another along with injuries would sure be harder on all the hands, especially since the black stud would need constant attention.

(i didn't know what to write so i blabed lol)
