With Chuck at the helm, Men's BB won't be taking a backseat to anybody much longer. They'll compete next year and the years after. Drummond and Kaba make them instant contenders. The freshman class plus Dorvell Carter coming back will put them in great shape. Marist has done quite well the last 8 yrs. 2 regular season titles isn't terrible. We never had the tourney on our home court.

Marist fans take a backseat to nobody. Too bad certain Siena fans feel they have to be like the guy with just one nut. They think it makes them special, then act all defensive when they're in the presence of people with the requisite number.

Probably not a coincidence that my daughter got another piece of literature from the Admissions office at Siena today. Some irony that the misogyny squad make its celebratory appearance the same day. These guys who come on here and lecture about who and what doesn't matter aren't doing their beloved school any favors. People read these boards.

Cleveland State is my alma mater! Marist is my team through adoption. (LOL) Well, that and over $100,000 in scholarship money for a very close relative. (ROTFL)

the thing that drives me nuts about Siena fans is that they act as if they have the greatest team in the history of college basketball. 1 minute after they lost in last year's tourny, they already had Siena in this year's sweet 16. Yesterday, less than 24 hours after Siena won the MAAC Tourny, Siena fans had them winning next year's MAAC championship. They also had Siena as high as a number 6 seed in this year's tournament and every major college in the country beating down Fran McCaffrey's door during the off season. Siena had a great season. Congrats on winning last year and this year. But lets keep things in perspective.

keeping things realistic like calling marist's girls team "girl-zaga"???...lol...your a joke...stop with the "siena envy" and just stick to what you know best...wbb and 1aa football...just disband the mbb program already...has marist ever gotten to monday night of the maac tourney??? that is a serious question because i am not sure...if siena fans called themselves "east-zaga", that would have been the centerpiece of your recent post which tore into the siena fans realism as it relates to their mbb team.

also, for those who said siena is a one-trick pony, do some research...i think it is now 4 straight vball championships...i think 3 baseball championships in past 10 years...men's and women's golf have won multiple maac championships past 10 years...at least one wbb championship (01) last 10 years...if you win one maac championship every 10 years in a sport, you are doing ok...if you win 4 out of 10 (99, 02, 08, 09 for mbb) you are dominating. adding to those four championships are two more seasons where siena lost in championship, so that makes 6 of 10 seasons playing on monday night.

Your a joke, you laugh at us for even mentioning WBB or 1AA FB but now your mentioning volleyball, baseball and golf. You can't be serious. If you do a little more research (and I know thats difficult for Siena people) you would find that Marist won the MAAC Commissioners cup 7 of the last 9 years. The best Siena has done is 4th in that time frame. We have a much better athletic program then you top to bottom. You have a good MBB team, no one here is saying different. Now get over yourself and move on to some other board and discuss Siena volleyball.
What MC WBB has done over the past 5 or so years is a much greater achievement than what Siena MBB has done. Its clear as day.
Do you have a good mens team? Yes
Will our mens team be improved in years to come? Yes
I'm sure when we are we can count on you to come back around and tell us how good the golf team at Siena is doing.

if you could read, you would have realized that i only mentioned golf, volleyball, etc because some loser's comeback to a previous statement was "siena's athletic dept is a one-trick pony with mbb" which is obviously not correct. that is why the numerous other championships that i admit, i care very little to nothing about, were mentioned. the only reason why marist wins the commissioners cup is because they participate in the most sports. i thought you could figure that out but i guess not. marist participates in 21 overall sports while siena participates in only 18. obviously if you have 3 sports more than another school, i would hope that you wouldn't be that bad where the other school receives more commissioners cup points overall than you. you would have to be really terrible to get beaten by a school with three less sports (which i don't think marist is). to be honest, the commissioners cup means very little (other than you spend the most money by having the most sports). if you have 18 sports and you finish first in every one and another school has 21 sports and finishes second in every one, the school with 21 sports would have more commissioners cup points. what does that tell you about the importance of the commissioners cup???

i am sure you do not agree with reason or facts...but at least i tried.

you won't have so much anger to the college you have just admitted and puts more effort into their athletics program.

upstate (HAPPY)??? More like GRUMPY or DOPEY. BTW, I didn't say you were a dwarf, I said troll. You know, people who go on other teams boards to brag, just to somehow make your own life seem important, even though it really isn't.

Hey good news! The Siena student newspaper(also known as the Times Union)tries to strongly suggest that Siena is this year's Davidson and could go to the elite eight. This is what I meant about not getting carried away and putting things in erspective, and the Times Union has been a MAJJOR part of the problem. Oh, and Hasbrouck will be a first round pick in the NBA draft.

People like upstate make it really hard to root for Siena in the NCAA's. If they win we get subjected to this BS.

I for one always root for the MAAC rep and hope Siena goes to the elite eight!

I just wish one of these years Marist men can be the rep.

The thing I get a kick out of is that their student body barely shows up until they can get on TV by running onto the court and hanging on the rims.. I can't take anything away from their squad. Good team. That's why Chuck is here though. He didn't take the job because he thought he'd be playng for second. Two years from now, they'll be the team to beat as long as he's here... I'm not ruling out next year either. Kaba and Drummond make them instant contenders. I'd say Marist has had the best baseball team over the years. I believe one year they didn't win the regular season title was because of a fight. Siena picked up the pieces because Marist had to forfeit games. I believe they still won the tournament. They're back in Baseball. In terms of relevance, Marist will have had 2 guys who played in the NBA. JJ will be in the league shortly. I hope Siena wins a few games in the big dance. Some of their fans are idiots but the team is made up of good guys...Finally, Brady left us in shambles but Martin will take us higher than Brady ever did.

so unnecessarily this year, but it is in the rearview mirror now. We got to see a new staff and system take root and the young guys got a year under their belt. The transfers will elevate the talent level and Martin may have struck gold with Prescott. Carter will be healthy and our post players will be much more effective when opponents begin dealing with Drummond. Lots of competition at the guard spots will only force the guys to bet better if they want PT. The new guys are gonna change way Men's Basketball has been played at Marist over the years. Just watch, can't wait.

Oh yea, and the Women will still kick tush in the league.
