Junior guard from Poughkeepsie High School. Small in stature, but has put up some big numbers for Laffin's Team this year.

Martin should grab some of the local guys. No more guys that can't shoot. :-) I like the composition that he will have next year. A dominating force in the middle surrounded by athletic guards and forwards.

A guy like this would be a good fit in a few years..

And from what I've read, he's another Prescott. Best ball is ahead of him. Sort of been out of the limelight. Get him!!!

Here's a nice piece..

Would the outcome have been different on a neutral floor? Itís hard to say. Dayvon Whitaker was masterful early, hitting 8 of his first 10 shots, scoring 18 of his game-high 27 in the first half. Most of his points came off jumpers with a hand in his face, on 15-foot fadeaways or jumpers coming off screens. Whenever he hit a shot in the first half, the people sitting around me just started laughing. It was the ultimate compliment. The shots he was making were unbelievable

One more.. Get this guy Chuck!!!!!

After the game, Whitaker had coaches from Marist talking to him and his family. According to coach Brian Laffin, theyíve been on him for weeks, and heís been contacted by Richmond, College of Charleston, Manhattan and several other MAAC schools. Whitaker is destined to be a star at that level. His strength, body control and court savvy are what makes him special. His shooting and quickness are almost like a bonus. Based on what Iíve seen in three games, heís one of Section 1ís top five players hands-down.

Very promising young player. Coach says he is gonna be a star in the right situation, and the a league like the MAAC fits the bill. If Martin really wants him, then I hope Deyvon is a homebody.

Don't worry GGaff, this guy sounds like the can fill it up from just about anywhere.
