In reply to: MaristFan 's message, "Brady Strikes Back" on 16:04:51 03/18/09 Wed

I don't doubt that Marist conveyed a message between seasons 3 or 4 to Brady. The message was something along the lines of WIN A MAAC TTTLE. Dave Magarity didn't bolt Marist, he was doing an ok job...Marist made the change because the administration wanted to improve and get better...everything Brady accomplished at Marist was "been there done that". There's nothing wrong with Marist suggesting win sooner than later or we may look elsewhere...it's not like he got that message after season one. He had the most talented teams in Marist history handed to him for two years and bowed out in the semi's...Magarity accomplished that feat many times.

This NYTimes article makes it sound again that Brady took a floundering 6-22 program that was consistently a bottom feeder and turned them into an 11-17, 19-10, 25-9 team. We all know this Marist program for the last twenty years has performed following a pretty stready cycle...terrible year, better rebuilding year, two or three good to very good years complete with semifinal flame-out and than repeat. Brady just happened to take over right after the isolated terrible year.

Plus he's still resonsible for the decline of this years team WITHOUT considering the recruit defections...where are Brady's four year players??? Alot of his four year recruits should have been on this past team...Vucajnik? Gerald Carter? Right-D-II...LB? Goodwin, Bauer...big time dissapointments...He was like one for three recruiting years at Marist with Gavin being his only four year get.

I realize most of you guys hate Brady's guts, however he did win a MAAC championship outright, which I don't think had ever been done before. None of us know what was discussed between Brady and the college. I do know that JJ and WW were told by Murray after their soph season that major renovations would be done at McCann including the locker room. They were told the Locker room would be redone by that fall. That was never done while they were in school. Who knows what the administration told Brady. I'm not trying to defend Brady, but there are usually 2 sides to every story and we don't know either side.
