(He seemed to take the news well, however, since he knew that Kyrian was apt to overreact when someone was upset, he had been there when Haylie had been shot and was bleeding to death and Kyrian had bellowed like a wounded bull moose. With a sigh, he looked back down at his papers again and shaking his head as he thought about it. Skeeter had overlooked his question about Gia, he knew the other man was upset over what had happened and he had every right to be upset. His hand shifted idly to scratch his arm before he put the papers down on the desk and looked over at Skeeter again.) Between you and me, I did what I had to do as a friend - not as your commander. I felt that as a friend I couldn't interfere in your relationship - and that was weakness on my part. I am sorry for that. As your commander I should have made you privy to that information as soon as it was available to me, I just didnt know how. (He leaned forward, his elbows on his knees.) I want you to know that she came in here the day before she left and had something important to tell me but I blew her off thinking it was another attempt to get back out in the field.. there were a few times she came to me and appeared to have something on her mind but clammed up and didn't say anything. Perhaps she was trying to reach out but I didn't allow her to. (He shrugged a little, he was trying to give Gia a little credit, he knew that she was a good woman, that she wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone the way she had hurt Skeeter.)
