(He guided his friend over to the other side of the hallway, where part of the floor was in tact.. the exposed beam was above them now, and he brought Kyrian's belt up and slung it over the beam. He brought the ends together and put his weight on it.) Looks good man.. go get her. (He said, shifting his weight a little and grunting as the pain started to really set it. The hair on the back of his neck stood up again and he looked over his shoulder.. he could have sworn he'd heard his wife scolding him.. but he couldn't have.. Shay wouldn't be here.. Shit.. Shay was here..)

(He arched a dark brow as he watched Remy.. the man had a broken leg and he looked like a good seizure was immanent.. and yet there he was, as always, helping others before thinking of himself. He cleared his throat of smoke.) Remy, you need to get back down to base and get to an ambulance.. there are people outside who need help as well. (he said, trying to sweeten the deal.. but his friend was having nothing of it.. it seemed the commander wasn't leaving without his team.) Haylie - I'm coming.. (He called out through the smoke, doing the difficult thing and turning from his friend, shimmying across the remaining flooring, putting his vast weight on the beam instead of the floor. When he was across, he left the belt hanging and was at Haylie's side immediately.) Lord, Haylie.. you had me scared.. (He murmured as he knelt at her side, his hands running over her body to make sure she was whole before he finally put his arm behind her, the other shifting under her knees.) Deep breath.. I can't imagine this is going to be comfortable for you.. (He murmured, frustration in his voice. His girlfriend needed to be at home.. in bed.. comfortable and safe and relaxed.. not breathing toxic smoke, with a two by four through her leg and the poor baby in there wondering what the hell was going on outside. He lifted her up into his arms, a barely perceptable grunt leaving his tired body as he got her upright, every muscle burning simply because he wasn't taking in enough oxygen. He carried her over to the flooring section and carefully set her on her good foot, supporting her weight. Taking her wrist in his hand, he brought her hand up to link around his neck.) Hold onto me as tight as you can, Haylie.. we'll do this together.. (He murmured into her ear as a strong arm went around her stomach, holding her back against his chest as he took hold of the belt.) You hear any noise like this might give way and you jump to Remy.. I don't care what you're thinking, Haylie.. you jump. (He said, inviting no arguments as his eyes met Remy's over her shoulder and he nudged her foot forwards.. this would be a much quicker thing if she wasn't pregnant. He'd have thrown her little ass over to Remy.. but that was out of the question what with the baby, her leg and Remy's... condition.)
