It would be nice to get an answer for this one, I'm using envision to view tif files created by QuickScanPro, which was fine for b/w images, but uses compression tag 6 for jpeg compressed greyscale images, or zip compression tag 50013, which isn't supported either. I would switch to another image type, but I need multipage file support. Uncompressed is too big at 9 meg for a 300dpi A4 sheet.
