Dear Dave,

Just a reminder, this is a support forum for the Envision Image Library. I don't really mind other Delphi questions, but you'll certainly get better advise on the borland newsgroups.

About your question, your requirements define quite a large application. If it is for your own use, I'd recommend finding an existing software; it will save you weeks of development time. If this is a product you want to develop you have a lot of decisions to make:

1. Which database engine? Use the BDE or other replacements, see http://www.kylecordes.com

2. Data entry third party components? You may use standard Delphi controls, but third party components will help, ie, InfoPower, http://www.woll2woll.com, and Orpheus, http://www.turbopower.com. RxLib www.rxlib.com may also help.

3. Report components, There is QuickReports with Delphi, but there are many others, Ace, Nevrona, Shazam, just of the top of my head.

I hope this gives you some starting pointers.

Best regards,

Michel
