You do know you can call the Kodak API don't you? There is a
object.SaveAs Image [,FileType,PageType,CompressionType,CompressionInfo,SaveAtZoom]
method that will help you out here.
Do you know someone with Windows '95? They have the .hlp file for the API calls (wangocxd.hlp). Some of the API has changed between '95 and w2k/'98, but for a simple conversion, you should be okay.

If you get stuck finding the API, email me and I'll give you some code.
