expensive recruits from other clubs? Really Adams and White are on coin, young, karnitzes, hudson, lynch, armstrong are cheapies. Lynch, Young, Hudson, Armstrong didnt cost a lot and did not represent a major factor in Collingwood woes. We Have woes. Yes.

No young talent, hyperbole. A fair bit of young talent. (of course everyone has some). I would not say we have Great young talent. We got average amounts, Good for a side that's played a fair bit of finals.

The early decline of some senior players, a failure to adapt to changes and evolve the game plan , a rash of injuries have seen the Year turn pretty darn awful.

We make well finish Richmondth, this year and most likely only be embrassed if we make finals.

IT's a reasonable list, with developing talent. The Question is if Swan is finished as a top player, Ben Ried never going to be fit (2 our real guns ) then is Collingwood a viable contender? (answer NO. boils down to that,) Collingwood never had great amounts of top end talent, 2010 flag was an upset in some ways, a perfect storm of factors coming together, built on a game plan that was a temporary tactical success that was always going to expire pretty quickly as teams adapted.

After 2010 we got the like sod Tarrant and Krakouer to reload. As reasonable top up while your good.

Ben Reid remains one of the most critical pieces in the pies puzzle. He comes back as a quality player then we can compete if we get a number of other things right. (Gameplan, we been not been tactically sharp enough) Sharenberg, Adams, Langdon, Broomhead, Grundy, should all be better 1st team players next year.

We have CHB, CHF problems, Cloke needs a good foil. White isn't it (he may be useful as third tall depth, but as a 2nd tall he's a dud) Ried solves that problem. Keefe isn't a great CHB, he Ok at times, but really been exposed and gone backwards under pressure this year (he could come good, but I don't rate him highly). Brown, Frost are interchangeable dour negators who do their job.(ideally both never play in the same team) The Loss of Maxwell has help to exposed a mainly young defence, Williams, Landon, Frost, Keefe, Seedsman, Toovey (the only really experienced player). Schernberg should be a good player coming in next year. But I think remains weak with Keefe playing there (Reid can we clone him maybe with 4 we would get 2 on the park each week)

Midfield is about spread and ball use. We win it OK, but neither spread or use that well. Broomhead, Seedsman will help going forward here, but too many iffy kicks and non smart spreaders and ball users is the problem. Beams, Pendlebury, Sidebottom thats good but the supporting cast tend to be either very outside or very inside (and short to boot) Ball, Adams, Blair, Dwyer, Josh Thomas , Martin playing 4 of these in the one team isn't ideal.
