Subject: Dare I say it, I might have finally been given a reason to give a sh!t about Australian soccer.

The Age, Michael Lynch et al.

"The owners of Manchester City have taken control of struggling A-League club Melbourne Heart after the approval of a deal worth about $11 million by Football Federation Australia.
City’s United Arab Emirates backers, who have helped to turn Manchester City into one of the strongest clubs of European soccer, will provide the bulk of the cash.
But the deal also involves the owners of the Melbourne Storm, which will take a 20 per cent stake in the club.

There has also been speculation that the new owers may want to change the strip colour to light blue and the name to Melbourne City, to reflect the relationship with the English club."

Wow.
