No criticism of Hawthorn in the above, BTW.
If you want to play like Hawthorn, you need players who can can kick like the Hawthorn blokes do.
All credit to Port and Ken Hinkley. He is a genius. He developed a game plan built around his club's few strengths at the time, added to that strength (pace) with even more pace (and a fitness guru who is clearly a gun), and gave his team something to exploit against everyone else.
I hate Port Adelaide but everything about what they've done in the past couple of years is impressive.
