Subject: New Poem

In the half-light of broken dreams
Love is not all it seems
On waking,
When first begun who could know
That later love would later show
Hearts breaking;
That dreams would die
And lovers cry
Mistaking
The painful loss
Of new love's dross
As death.

But, it is life!
When the scales fall
From the eyes of love
It's life!
A better, deeper, fuller
Craving thirst
To know
The fuller, deeper, total
Of your lover's soul.

Thanks Susan.

I suppose I should do more writing and have started on a novel (well into chapter two) recently. Who knows one day it might even get published, but for now I'll just be happy if it gets finished - justify my English teacher's belief in me when he presented me with the memorial prize for literature in Year 12. It's only taken ten years, but now I suppose I at least have some life-lessons to write about.

Kylie

I can understand the "life-lessons" would help in writing as you get older and experience more. Good for you, writing a book. Me, I just love reading them (lol).
