Re: the hair is g o n e ! -- Tina Swinimer, 15:53:28 12/05/03 Fri (hlfx42-142176092196.ns.sympatico.ca/142.177.92.196)
Thanks you so much for your prayers and kind thoughts-I used to do church visitations-visiting church members in the nursing home-I will do it again soon as things settle a bit-also our church sends welcome back cards or visit us again cards to people who sign our church guest book-the church supplies cards and stamps for me to address and send out these cards-this is something I can do to help from home.So if your church has anything you can do from home it may ease tensions..I hate ironing other folks things in fear of scortching them-I can sympathise with you-lol

Re: the hair is g o n e ! Hi Susan -- Tina Swinimer, 16:20:55 12/05/03 Fri (hlfx42-142176092196.ns.sympatico.ca/142.177.92.196)
Heat packs do help and no matter how bad the legs hurt it also helps to move them quite often like forcing myself to walk up and down my long hall when I can.
I am learning new tricks about helping myself-Like clenching my teeth and doing all I can-lol
Ralston can now see so good out of both his eyes-one eye was done in the spring the other last week-he is so happy with the results. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow..hope it is not too much-Northern Nova Scotia had so much in the last few days-they had to close schools etc..roads were impassable-hope we don't get that much..they are about 3 hours travel from us where all the snow got dumped!

message for Tina -- Phyllis, 00:46:59 12/06/03 Sat (dial-69.67.235-21.usadatanet.net/69.67.235.21)
Dear Tina,
Thank you for your message and advice regarding church activities.
My sister thought my being "sentenced" to ironing duty was quite funny. She thought I was being punished for not helping out with the decorating. There is really not any tension, I think the people at church were just trying to find another way for me to participate in the Holidays. I look forward to helping the church again soon and I am glad that all the ironing is over.
I use my dryer at home on the perma press cycle and only iron when absolutely necessary.
We are expect several inches of snow starting tomorrow and another storm in the evening. I'm glad to be retired so I could do my grocery shopping today.
Take care.
Phyllis
PS My sister, Shirley send her best.

Dear Tina,
My sister is visiting with me for this afternoon and I told her about my friends on this site.
She says that you must have a kind and compassionate son since he has given you much needed support during this difficult time. Your family sounds very caring and you are truly blessed to have them. With your positive attitude and the support of family and friends you can continue to enjoy visiting and getting out.
You are in my prayers and I light a candle in church for you each Sunday.
I thought you my enjoy what took place recently at church.
Since I recently retired from work, people think I need to use up my free time. I was asked to help with Christmas decorations at church. I told them that I was not very good (creative) and I thought that was it. My plans not to volunteer backfired. Two weeks later I was asked if I knew how to iron, and of course I said yes. I was then assigned to ironing duties since I said I would not be good at decorating. (I wish I had kept my mouth shut) I was told to bring an iron and extension cord and that I would be ironing all the tablecloths in the church hall. My sister jokingly advised me to scorch a couple of tablecloths so I would be sent home early, I did not feel that I could do this, but when I had enough of it I told them I had to go home and tend to my dog. He comes in real handy when I need an excuse. I wonder what they will have in store for me next time. I'll keep you posted if there are any more interesting developments.
Take care and remember that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Tina! Hoping that you're having a better time with the leg than you were anticipating. The wig sounds gorgeous.
