Subject: I am still around

I know I have been neglecting you all recently, but Bill is taking a lot of looking after and it is affecting me. I went to the doctor the other day and he has given me some tablets to help me relax and let my body take over.

We are not getting on very well with Social Services, and unless Bill gets his confidence back, I can't carry on much longer. I don't want him to go into care, but maybe he will have to.

I do sometimes chat with Sally, and have chatted with Jenn and Solarfrog, which I really enjoy.

That is all for now, I am ok in myself, just the situation is getting me down a bit.

Dear Margaret.

Sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time with Bill. You must try to take time for yourself and rest in between caring for him. I know that it is very stressful taking care of a family member who needs a lot of care. Hopefully you can get some help from Social Services and if things are not going well you should discuss with the supervisor to see what kind of help they can provide for him in your home. Do they provide any physical therapy and does he have a walker to help him ambulate most steadily on his feet? Does his primary doctor often any suggestions? It is very difficult when one has to decide what is best for both the patient and the caregiver. You should discuss and share your concerns with your family members.

Hope things start to look up soon for you and Bill :)
Remember that you need taking care of sometimes too and get as much rest as possible.
Social Services should be ashamed of themselves!

Margaret have you gone to your own family doctor to see if he can push for help for you?Our doctors will do that.Take care of yourself..I know its easy to say don't overdo it but if Bill is too much to handle and if he is willing to go somewhere else that is what you will have to do. Is there a place handy where you could visit often?Do you have a minister of the church that can put in a word for you?Try every way..I guess I'm sure you have but I keep wishing so hard for a solution for you.A million hugs..Tina

This seems so unfair to you and Bill. Social Services need a rocket under them. What about annoying the heck out of them with telephone calls each day? Please know I am thinking of you and wish I could help out.

By the way, the space station photograph was fantastic, I sat there for ages working out each county and emailed to a lot of relatives. Thank you.
