  woke up Sunday with a pillow full of hair-was shedding ever since to my son Kevin came over tonight and shaved all the remainder off..I have had a beautiful $300 wig given to me..never worn before..same color as my hair "was" and almost the same style..straight sort of. Even my hubby couldn't tell I had a wig on..thats how real it looks.
  Had 5 more hours of Chemo yesterday-first before that 1 and 1/2 hours of intervenus to prevent getting stomache upset.before that 1 hour of tests..made for a long day but was invited to my sisters for supper..she only lives a few miles from the hospital-she is on the outskirts of the city..it was wonderful to go have a lovely meal before the trip home-Cynthia my youngest daughter took me this time.now in a day or 2s time I will have excrusiating leg pain..they said it would get worse each time because of the type of chemo they are giving me.Lasts for 4 to 6 days with very few breaks of no pain.gave me a pill to help ease it but they said it would not help much.And my next chemo is just 2 days before Christmas so I may have a painful Christmas but I hope to keep myself on the move like last time..regardless of the pain.Ralston kept telling me to stay on the couch-I said it will hurt no matter where I am so I may as well enjoy some part of the time by running around..visiting friends/stores etc.I am not telling all this for sympathy..telling it in case in later life you or some friend gets anything like it you can tell them to do what they can while they can-laying around doesn't help.Determination is the key folks..and I am spunky determined-lol

  Still here, and still thinking of you all-- just haven't caught up lately. Just got back after a weekend away at a place called MillValley Ranch.. went with long time friends and their extended family, kids, grandkids, other rellies.. 20 of us altogether, 10 adults, 10 children between 20 months and 15 years.Whew!
  I rode( horses) both Sat and Sunday.. used to ride a lot in my teens, but in later years, not much chance living in suburbia. so till this weekend hadn't been on a horse for 10 years,It was Great! I had the same horse both days, a brown gelding named Amigo. We went trail riding.They've had rain there and everything was beautiful and green.
  I will tell you tho. that I'm a teensy tender and sore in ah... private parts.. after not riding for so long!
  Thanks for asking after me,Susan.. Tina, that is a great photo of you.. I hope things are going as well as possible.
  Dudo.. I think there comes a time in everyone's life when they feel minimalistic.. and want to pare down their lives, and it looks as tho your Dad has got to this stage, which is your gain.

  Not a lot to report, have been busy with work and storm claims. Margaret how is Bill going now? Much better I hope. Dudo, enjoyed your catch up and like always very newsy. Yes, the storms were awful and not much rain with it. Ellie and Kylie are you both okay? Phyliss have you received any photos of the new granddaughter yet? Bet you can't wait to visit.
  
  I'm going off to Adelaide, probably on Sunday to catch up with Mum and my son (if he's not working). Mum wants to take me Christmas shopping and choose a present from her, won't say no to that one (lol).
  
  I spoke very briefly to Tina the other night (about 90 seconds) and she is having another round of Chemo and I think she said next week. Hopefully she wont' feel as much pain in her joints this time.
  
  The weather is warming up and it's been quite warm this week. More thunderstorms are expected on the weekend.

  So sorry, margaret, to hear of that family's grief- poor little girl!Hope that her mum is staying strong now.
  Congrats on the new grand-daughter, phyllis!!
  Lovely pic, Tina....glad you're getting out and about before the realy cold weather sets in!Also glad that the chemo isn't making your life more uncomfortable than it needs to ... A cousin of mine used to only have 3 good days a fortnight- those prior to her next chemo!The rest of the time she was very nauseous and weak- couldn't enjoy anything much.
  My news- not much, really- my dad, who moves up to Queensland on Fri. has given us what seems like most of his house/shed contents!(he says it's our inheritance!)
  There's every thing from a couple of lovely antique sideboards/hallstands to hose fittings, power tools and even thge wheelie bin!
  It feels odd, as if he's died or something....apparently, his wife thinks he has to let go of his "stuff"- posessions only weigh one down or something!I'm not sure I agree with All of this.Some of the stuff, jewellery etc. is old, and he's had it for years and years...oh, well.
  There are heaps of gardening tools, incl. a worm farm and compost bins- so now I have no excuse!!!I loved gardening in Melbourne- a little backyard, few vegies, lots of rain... here, between both houses there's 2 acres of hot sandy soil which grows stuff if you POUR the water on, and the rabbits etc. don't eat it!Mind you, I do grow the BEST Nashis and asparagus around, and I have some lovely bromeliads, Iris and roses, but it's a hard slog, and I look on it as work these days!I prefer container gardening- have lots of ferns, climbing things and philodendrons.
  We've had a few thunderstorms and power outages during theweek- dinner by candlelight again!!LOL
  anyway- better go and do some work....take care, everyone!

  My new granddaughter (Ariana' new sister) arrived on
  November 19th. (November 19th was my parents anniversary)
  
  She weighed 7 lbs & 3 ozs. 20 3/4 length.
  Her name is Athena. My son sent me pictures via e-mail. She has lots of hair, lighter than her sisters and is so sweet.
  
  Ariana is 22 months old and I will be flying to Florida in January to celebrate her second birthday and meet Athena for the first time. I can hardly wait to hold my new granddaughter.
  
  I remember writing to you all when my first granddaughter was born.
  
  Just wanted to share this happy event with you all.

  Bill hasn't been to good recently and he is carrying a lot of water, but today his balance was also off, so I called the doctor out. He has increased his water tablets and because Bill is seeing the consultant on Monday, he is going to telephone him to tell him what has happened. The doctor did say that I should expect Bill to stay in hospital.
  
  This evening when I was on my computer Bill fell out of his chair. He has one of these chairs that can stand him up and because his balance was not very good, he had a bottle to pee into. He took the chair too high and fell out, onto a brass fender.
  
  I telephoned for an ambulance because I can't pick him up, and there was Bill lying on the floor with his trousers down when they arrived. He is too big for me to handle on my own.
  
  Off he went to Casualty, and his elbow has swollen to twice it's size but nothing is broken. They did find that he has an infection somewhere which they are investigating, and he has fluid round his heart.
  
  All he had to do was ask the doctor to go into hospital today, he didn't need to fall out of the chair to get there. vbg. I pull his leg saying that all he wants to do is look at the lovely young nurses and that he falls on purpose.
  
  Hopefully he won't be in long, but at least I will have a rest.

  Yesterday was Christie's funeral and I telephoned Jenn and Sally and spoke to them both before the funeral. They were very surprised because England to the USA is a fair distance.
  
  Both sounded as if they were coping quite well, and I have been on messenger to Sally today, and Jenn is sleeping all the time. This will be her body's way of coping and healing. The do seem better than they were when Becky went, but this is the 3rd time it has happened, and they have learnt how to cope better by their other experiences.
  
  They are very surprised that you all remember Jenn, and really appreciate all the healing thoughts and prayers that are being said.
  
  I will be keeping in touch with them and hope that I can do a little to help them through. I will keep you informed as much as I can.

  I am enjoying so very much meeting you all through your pictures-I still haven't gotten mine to my friends house so she can send them.Her name is Karen..55 yrs old and she has non hodgkens lymphoma..a form of that dread cancer..we are both in stage 3 even though our cancers and treatments are completely different.We can joke together about when we are going over the rainbow and what direction we are taking when we get there - she is also an animal lover..she had top agility dogs for years..only has one retired one now..I still have my 3 dogs..She and I worked together at the t.v.station for years..who would have thought we would be meeting another fate together?
  OH well the side effects of chemo are different for most people but those treated for breast cancer now do not suffer as much a even 2 yrs ago.For ovarian cancer the treatment is much stronger because the trace cancers or fingerprint cancer is down amongst those hot intestines/pancrease/bowels/kidneys etc.If chemo does nothing in 6 months you know you only have 6 mos to a year after that..after 2 to 3 yrs most who have had ovarian cancer get it back..if you are not offered any treatment other than pain killers at this point you know you are on your last 6 months.For the long haul 5 years is feasable..7 yrs a dream...but about 2 in every 2500 people make it near 9 yrs.Just wanted to give you the low down on this particular type of cancer.Keep in mind there are 100 different types of cancer and as many types of chemo so if you get cancer down the line..D o n t panic..study up on your type and its cures.
  My family is keeping me busy taking me places and spending real quality time with me...God bless my wonderful family and all my friends including all of you..thank you who have brightened my mornings with the occasional joke and thanks for all the wonderful visits here in Voy and the pics of you and your pets.

  Some of you may remember Jenn and her dog Winston that came onto Dog Chat asking for advice. Shortly afterwards her brother in law committed suicide and 3 months later her sister.
  
  I have just been taking to Jenn on messenger, the first time for a very long time, and she has told me that her daughter, Christie, aged 14 I think, committed suicide last Friday. I can't stop crying, what a waste, but she has been threatening to do this since her aunty went.
  
  Both Jenn and her mother Sally, need as many prayers as they can get, and I will certainly be sending lots.

  As Phylis hasn't been around for a little while and in response to your post below, I thought we could introduce ourselves to her?
  Okay, I live in country South Australia in a citrus and grape growing area. We live on 10 acres of land which is planted to oranges and tangelos. It's a great lifestyle. We have lived here for about 20 years and moved up from Adelaide (the capital city of South Australia). We have one son who is 22 and lives in Adelaide and works as a nurse. We also have two dogs, Jake and Mitch and two cats, Abby and Ted.
  Also, in response to your question about Anzac Day - it is remembering the Austrailan and New Zealand troops who landed at Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 (?) (WWI). Many lives were lost and it is a day to remember our fallen soldiers. Dudo, if I have got this terribly wrong, please feel free to correct me (I have done this in a bit of a hurry (lol).

  Top photo is of Dudo, her Mum and pet Ram, Megs down by the river. The other is on Anzac morning (25th April) at their Dawn Service under the flag. "Mum" is the one hiding behind the flagpole and Dudo has the blue top on. (Not what you said - lol).

  I happened to be online the same time as Tina last night and we had a great chat. She has given me permission to give you an update (I will try to remember everything).
  
  She said she has just finished her first Chemo treatment and luckily she has not felt nauseous, but is suffering from cramps. Her daughter in law sat with her, which is wonderful and also very comforting. A little sideline Tina told me was that before giving the Chemo, they pumped Benadryl and something else into her, and it made her high as a kite. Tina thought this was quite funny, as they were trying to talk to her and not getting a lot of sense (lol). I think the treatment continues for about 6 months (hope that bit is right?)
  Also, tomorrow (probably today now) her two daughters are taking her shopping for a wig and they are also calling into a place that does pottery and each are going to make teapots. She is really looking forward to this.
  Her family have hired a cleaner and her husband and Tina herself are helping each other out.
  Tina, if you do read this - what came across to me was the loving family you have and obviously you are very aware of this. It must be so comforting.

  That we have known each other for some time but how many of us know what we look like. Soooo how about us putting a picture of ourselves up, and out other half if you want.
  
  What has happened to Tina has given me a shock, and it would be nice to see what we really look like.
  
  Also, in the past I haven't been able to send Christmas cards and I don't know when your birthdays are etc. If anyone is interested, let me have your address and birthday, anniversary etc, and I can send them out to all of us.
  
  Anyone can come on here and read what is hear. On several other message boards there has been a lot of problems with someone hacking into others emails etc. Yahoo groups can be private so that only us and anyone we invite can have access to. If you would prefer this, let me know and I will open a Yahoo list. With Yahoo you can have the messages sent out to you be email or you can read from the web site, it is your choice.

  Well, after a BUSY w/end, I got back home mon.nite.
  I went to "the pageant" and had A BALL!!For the uninitiated, it's a Christmas pageant , through the city of Adelaide- around 54 floats, bands, heaps of clowns and entertainers.
  The floats, some of them 50 yrs. old at least, cover everything from Father Christmas to Australiana, to Monsters, Inc.!This year there were even 3 camels (real) for the Wise men to ride.Lovely... 350,000 people can't be wrong!!
  Went to see a cousin and her family,she's the ebay seller- her once large house now doesn't seem big enough to hold all her eBay stock!!
  Went to visit my Dad on Sun.- he and his wife are moving to Queensland, pending sale of their house- 2 sales broken down so far!!It's a real "grass roots" home- chemical free- all organic garden with 30 types of fruit, and all sorts of veg/ herbs- he even has a trout pond!(used to be a swiiming pool)Now it;s a thriving aquatic community, with a Monet type bridge/waterlily view....all stuff he's done himself over the past 10 yrs.( he's 73)...if anyone knows someone who would LOVE this type of environment...URGENT sale needed.The house is 1km. from the beach, with schools, shops and public t/port 5 min. walk away.
  I did get to walk along the beach, and pick up some lovely black pebbles- nice to hear the waves, and smell the ozone!
  I also stopped of at a school fete there, and picked up 4 pot plants for $2.00(the last of the big spenders!!)
  For the first time in umpteen yrs I travelled on a train.. I love train travel, but get extreme nausea on buses!(the trips to and from Adelaide are distinctly unpleasant experiences)
  Had a bit of a decline in our animal numbers- my old mouse, one of my older coolie dogs( he had a cancerous nose), and yesterday I had to "euthanize" our old galah- after 43 yrs, his poor old legs wouldn't hold him up, and he was losing weight.He was a real character, and would alert us to an approaching car before the dogs!Oh, well..you've got to have'em to lose 'em....

  It's a good idea Margaret and I'm game. I had to look very hard for photos of Rob,Leigh and myself together as both Rob and I hate having our photos taken, but I found one (lol).

  Cynthia had thanksgiving dinner at her house today because when Canadas thanksgiving was..I was in the hospital.Darlene my oldest daughter helped her.Was so nice to eat with a group of relatives and friends again.Largest meal I was able to "stow away" since I am home from the hospital.The folks in USA celebrate thanksgiving sometime this month.
  This Monday I get to spend all day in the Hospital in the city..have to leave here 7 am to get there at 9 am..because we will be travelling amongst all the working folk travelling to their jobs.Normally it only takes an hour to get to the city.I get started on chemo Monday...there goes the hair that I was so vain about because at my age I still didn't have to color my hair.Haven't picked out a wig yet but the Docs said I will definately loose the hair.Really that is the least of my worries.Just hope the chemo kills the cancer cells.They took 18 samples from my insides when they took out the 2 big cancerous tumors. All 18 came back with positive cancer spores or fingerprints as they gently like to call them.ovarian cancer is the hardest to cure in most cases.
  I am not a nervous wreck over this..I figure I had a marvelous life-wonderful family and friends..great neighbors-live in one of the nicest parts of the world-enjoyed my own garden of eden in my back yard for many years..but I am greedy enough to wish for a few more years..
  so pray hard for me folks.Love you all !!!

  Yes, girls, the gold ring I found does fit. However I want to try and track the owner if I can.. because you know it could be something special to someone.   I went shopping today and actually bought some stuff for me. I had planned to buy one nice top to wear on Monday when I'm doing some makeup modelling for a friend who is doing a course. I must have looked through just about every fashion shop in Westfields before heading off in disgust to pay some laybys.
  
  Just outside of Target there was a stall with women's fashion clothing marked down (in styles I like). I got two shortsleeved tops, two longsleeved tops, a skirt, a dress (that I plan to wear next month when I'm witness for a friend's wedding) and a pair of pants (the only thing that didn't fit, but will probably give to our neighbour's daughter) for $52.
  
  The clothes all still had their original tags on them. I saved nearly $140 altogether, and got all that stuff (pretty much everything I needed to tide me over for summer) for the same amount of money as I'd set aside for the one top.

  Tomorrow I go off to help a friend out. Dh is staying home to do homeschooling with J and X while I go off to be a makeup model. My friend (who owns her own beauty salon) is doing a course to upgrade her qualifications and asked if I could help out. I figure I'm the best type of face for this sort of modelling as my face is far from perfect, so they really have to be good to get a good result. *grin*

  Thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts..Well I am over one hump in the battle.Now next week of so I get started on chemo..There were 2 large grapefruit size lumps..one over each overy..both cancerous..Doc took 18 specimens for testing from other parts near the overie area..all were positive..I am in stage 3 of cancer which is not a good stage to be in..but will try to fight for some more time through chemo and the Lord.Shoot..got to my 68th
  birthday yesterday..never having to color my hair and now I will loose it to chemo..'taint no justice-lol
  Family treated me great with 2 days of celebrating my birthday..giving me rest time as well..I am going out at short intervals..went to a flea market-rested..then to a restaurant for seafood chowder..tomorrow going to church..long as I rest a bit every 2 hours I am doing ok..getting stronger daily.Love you all-will write more later..just happened to go in msn messenger and saw dudo was there this morn so had a delightful chat with her even if it was a short chat.

  I've been participating in an online Writer's Forum and found today's task really hard. We had to write about our biggest God Moment (this is a Christian forum). Most people had really positive things to write. Although what I wrote about had a positive outcome, it also relates to one of the most painful times in my life.
  
  It got me thinking about how reflecting on some of the hardest times in our lives can bring new perspective to the little things we go through in the day to day, and I ended up being really thankful, not for going through what I did, but for what I got out of it in the end.
  
  Tina, it also made me think of you as you go through one of those hardest times. You are still in my prayers.

  It's nearly sunset, and the pink and grey galahs are changing to flaming scarlet in the last rays of the sun.
  The only sounds are the birds getting settled for the night, and the swishing of the breeze through the branches of an old peppercorn tree.
  I am standing out at our tip, about 3/4 mile away from the house, and all of a sudden the hawks which I feed daily appear and circle far overhead- they've followed my ute, and are now demanding their tea!
  The meat for our dogs is on the back of the ute- I cut off some pieces and walk a short distance away. The birds watch me as I prepare to throw the meat up, over my head. As my arm starts to move, a bird dives, folds his wings, and captures the airborne food, just a metre above me! The other three come and get fed in the same way,before gliding off into the red-gold sky to the sillhouetted trees.
  
  I LOVE doing this- these are wild birds, and they have that really fierce glimmer in their eyes as they swoop so close, sometimes if they're very hungry, they will try and take meat from my hand, and (gently) rake my skin with a claw in passing.
  It may not be lions or tigers, but it's still a "wild" experience of which I never tire!!

  “You know, I like this,” mused Sally as she lay back on the sunlounge at the side of the verandah, “I’m glad you convinced me to come.”
  
  ‘It took some convincing too’ thought Dave, remembering the bitter arguments they had over the destination.
  
  Then there had been the disagreements over what they would do when they arrived. Once they had decided where they were going, Sally had begun to gather every flyer she could find at every travel agency she could find and put together an itinerary to rival the Prime Minister’s.
  
  It was always the same, with him wanting to relax when he got a break and Sally wanting to get out and do things. Dave put it down to their daily routine being so different. While he was out all day marketing products, talking to dozens of people every day, Sally was at home, most of her time consumed by cleaning, with an occasional break when she took on a rare client.
  
  Sally made formal and wedding dresses. She was good at it too, but since they had moved to Ruse for his career her established clientele had dwindled away and she had found it difficult to break into the market in the new area because of another well-known designer already having the goodwill of the market.
  
  David didn’t know what he could do to encourage her. She didn’t seem to have the same drive to succeed that she once had. He had even suggested different marketing tactics to her, but Sally had rebuffed any ideas Dave put forward.
  
  More and more it seemed that she was closing herself off from him. A distance had formed between them that left Dave aching to just hold her, but even now Sally had dragged her chair slightly away from his before lying down. Once she would have pulled it closer.
  
  Dave hoped this vacation would bring them closer again. That was why he had decided that they needed to spend some time together without any distractions. He felt that he’d chosen the perfect place. Dave had determined that here he and Sally would do whatever was needed to heal their marriage.

  SNOW STORM
  
  It was cold, bitterly cold, like the core of Jehaan’s heart. Heavy drifts of snow lay outside the cabin. Only the dirty faded red of the Camry’s roof was visible through the cotton wool lense of the blizzard, creating a blood smear against the pristine white landscape.
  
  This was the first one, the first blizzard since Jorge had died. Jehaan looked across at the rust-coloured roof of the vehicle and shivered. When Jorge had died his blood had been just that colour.
  
  They would never have been out in the blizzard if Jehaan hadn’t forced the issue of a baby. She had wanted one so badly. Jorge had always resisted, but when she had turned thirty, Jehaan had become desperate and, out of love for his wife Jorge had agreed to try for a baby. Three months later Jehaan had been ecstatic as she shared with Jorge that she was pregnant. For her sake Jorge tried to be excited.
  
  Jehaan hadn’t really thought about the timing of the birth, having only a few moments’ pause when concerns about a winter delivery surfaced. She didn’t allow herself excessive worry, knowing that the baby would be born in late August, when the worst of the season would be past.
  
  An early delivery hadn’t crossed Jehaan’s mind, so when she slipped on some ice at seven months she was completely unprepared. Tingling pains started in her back immediately, but Jehaan put these down to a pulled muscle, not wanting to head out for a false alarm because storm clouds were congregating in the south and she didn’t want them to be caught at the hospital during a blizzard. It was several hours before she mentioned her concerns to Jorge.
  
  By then labour and the storm were upon them. The phone lines were out and they were left with no choice but to defy the elements and make the emergency trip.
  
  It happened in a moment. The car skidded on a corner. It started to spin out of control. Then the electricity pole was in front of them. Jorge jerked the wheel of the car around, taking the greater force of the collision on his side of the vehicle. He was killed instantly.
  
  Jehaan had sat there, waiting for the ambulance, watching his life force mixing with the churned up snow, freezing inside as it took on the unnatural tarnished tone of mud and blood pooling together.
  
  Like Jorge, the baby had not survived the accident. The doctor’s said it was born stillborn sometime that night. Jehaan couldn’t remember.
  
  Watching the Camry become a gradually disappearing red dot in the whiteness outside, Jehaan reflected on the journey she had taken in the last year, the numbness, the pain, the sorrow, the anger, the eventual tender, sad acceptance, and a raw half-smile pushed past the morose as she leant down to light the matching tiered pair of candles she had bought to mark the anniversary of the blizzard which had changed her life.

  Hi, this is Cynthia, just dropping you all a note to let you know moms update. She hopes to get home tuesday from the hospital. She was operated on Oct 9 and had all large tumors removed but we had a family meeting with the doctor today and the 18 surrounding samples that were taken all came back cancerous. we will be going to Halifax on Friday to met with the chemo doctors to start treatments.
  
  This has been sooo hard, This wonderful strong loving women to have this happen so suddenly. Ovarian Cancer has changed all our lives in a matter of days.
  We will stay positive throughout all that comes our way and ask for your prayers.

  I am giving up singing as part of the worship team at church after this week. I've been thinking about doing so for a while because dh hasn't been getting to church which means J sits for the first part of the service on his own, unsupervised. Next year X will also be in this situation, and knowing how they interact with each other I figure it would be better if I give up the singing now to make the adjustment easier next year.
  
  I'm still a little sad about the end of this season in my life. I've really enjoyed doing this over the past couple of years.

  Amazing how small things can stress you, and take up a heap of time. So this is mine. I belong to a writing group that meets once a month, 1st Thursday night. We have for some years now met in the home of one of our members who has a large rumpus room. We appreciate that he- D- has done that for the group, but he is also a super critical bloke, and you only stay on the good side of him as an individual or a group if things run the way HE thinks they should. So at the last meeting he pulled a super hissy fit, withdrew from the group,and thus we have lost his home as our venue.
  With only 2 meetings left for the year, I've had to put in a heap of time searching for another venue, notifying members etc. (I'm Secretary of the group)I know this is only small in the scheme of things, but it has been stressy.
  Good news is that one of the local community houses has offered us a room for our meetings. And 'D" can go stick his head in a bucket!

  We were visiting family at Dubbo. While there they had a very big windstorm. We had been visiting dh's family on one side of town and I decided because I'd been driving all day (to get to Dubbo) that I would make an early night of it and head back to my parents. As we hopped into the car the lightning started. It was very fierce, so J, X and I started praying. We didn't hear thunder the whole time we were driving and although I could see the wind in the trees it was like we were driving in the eye of the storm. There were times where for several seconds (it felt like ten or more) it was like broad daylight, and the lightning was on all sides. We got to my parents, got in the door, shut it behind us and then the rain started. We looked outside and it was just bucketing down. Then it started coming in under all three doorways and the lights went out (they came back on at about 4.30am). The next morning we went to drive into town and the main road was blocked with fallen limbs. We took a detour and it was blocked, took another detour and it was also blocked, finally coming back out to the main road to find that in the meantime they had gotten it clear. More than one house in the town near Mum and Dad's lost their roofs, many full-grown gum trees came down, but thankfully no lives lost (except sadly one of the giraffes at the Western Plain Zoo which had to stay closed for two days while they cleaned up the mess).
  
  The rest of the holiday was pleasantly unexciting in comparison.

  Our son just rang me. As you may remember he's been working at a large Adelaide hospital doing his "GNP", which is like an intern for a doctor. He did half of it in Emergency and the other half in the Thoracic Department. He has just been offered a fulltime job in the Thoracic Department (he nurses Cystic Fibrosis patients) and he is over the moon. His first choice would have been Emergency but there are no positions available at the moment. He says that with going overseas in the next 8 months, the ward work will be invaluable for a future job in England.

  A happy little post, I hope- It's raining outside, and I can see the birds catching insects...
  
  Spring has well and truly sprung, at least that's what I've heard.
  
  I've seen it, too, in fresh green grass, and awkward baby birds.
  
  With short-tailed hops, they flutter down, and stumble on the ground-
  
  then up they go, with wings "flat out" and parents buzzing 'round.
  
  The magpie youngsters, their raucous voice, demanding to be heard-the willy wagtail's brood of three-thoughts for mother bird!
  
  A baby willy spoke to me, of all that it had seen- of termite queens, and little moths, of keeping feathers clean.
  
  It's "eyebrows" are the hardest part, to keep all white and neat-its beak can brush the wings and such, but eyebrows need its feet!!
  
  When the Willys left their nest, they did it carefully - one at a time their mother said- I can't possibly watch three !
  
  For days before, they looked about, and stretched, and wobbled tails-they said they weren't a bit afraid of finally "setting sail".
  
  I watched them from their eggs, these three,, and now that they fly free - some bits & pieces of their world, they coose to share with me.

  Sorry i've not posted, life's been a bit crazy here with brother away working , me filling in for the cooking for some weeks, mum not well, and the most recent- having to put down my Kieran dog!
  Kieran had bloat and a twisted stomach, a problem which occurs in deep chested dogs. From what I've read, it's almost always fatal, even with surgery. It only took about 2 hrs. from me noticing, to the point of no return.It was too far to even attempt a vet trip, it would have been wasted, and very painful for my boy- so late at night,(after speaking at length to the vet), under a starry sky, I did what I had to.
  A horrible night.....
  I will email people to catch up- I have been very slack- sorry.

  I did mean to update you on the little bub, A .. She's gorgeous!!! I met her last week, and she's soo round and soft and beautiful... her weight is nearly 8 lb., so she's done very well. She sleeps thru anything, and has a teenage auntie and uncle who cater to her every whim!!
  She has one of those automatic(battery) rocking cradle/seat things.. complete with moving mobile!it's handy for when Nan is busy, and A just sleeps in it happily.

  there is a new cancer blood test to see if somewhere there are active cancer cells..you look at the results like a thermometer..from one to one hundred.Up to 25 means no cancer..100 means pretty full of cancer ...well I am a 40 which is not good.I go for more tests on Oct 6th so don't know when I get operated on..so much for early detection if they can't get one in right away what is the good of early detection?
  We have been having the most beautiful weather all Sept.so far..just like the middle of summer..our leaves haven't even had any frost on them so they haven't turned red yet.

  Hi Everyone.. got an email in this morn from son,Simon travelling overseas.They're in Ireland, and yesterday their car was broken into and Si's plane tickets and passport were stolen. They fixed up about the plane tickets but had to drive from Cork to the Australian Embassy in Dublin today to see about the passport. Really messed up their plans as today they were to meet up with Peter and Eileen (Sinead's parents) in another city altogether. They're visiting Ireland from Aus too.
  Guess the moral of the story is always keep your important bits on or near you when travelling!

  I typed this up last night for another forum, but am too lazy to re-type, so hope you don't mind the bent time-frame.
  
  We visited friends who live down the coast yesterday. When we got there, their 13yo was sitting on the lounge with her arm in a sling. She fell down the stairs at school on Thursday, then came off a scooter on Friday afternoon and landed on the same wrist. They thought it was just bruised/sprained, but then her little cousin ran into her sore arm, and she just about went through the roof, so my friend decided (with some urging) to take her to hospital. The arm was broken (possibly since Thursday ). The doctors put a temporary cast on and this morning she had an operation to re-align it before a permanent (or at least for the next six weeks) cast was put on. The operation went well. She has to have checks with the specialist every week for the next three, so could do with some prayer that the arm is healing well.
  
  Meanwhile, dh and friend's husband had gone off fishing. We were supposed to meet them for lunch, but the collision with the cousin happened, and well, you've heard that story, so while friend was off at the hospital, I went with her sister (who was visiting too) and her kids to a local park, and spent the afternoon there instead. We decided not to spoil the guys day, so didn't bother them with the hospital stuff until they were on their way home anyway.
  
  After a day like that, the sister and I decided to spoil my friend and take her to the movies last night, leaving the guys with all five children. We went and watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean' which was excellent, but just missed the 8.30pm session, so had to catch the 9.20pm one, meaning we got back to my friend's house after Midnight.
  
  By the time dh and I got home it was 1.40am. I got up at 7am to get ready for church, realised I was on creche and not singing, which meant I didn't need to be at church for another two hours, so went back to bed and slept through until 10.30am (meaning I missed church). OOPS!
  
  So, dh and I decided to go to the markets today, with the intention of catching an evening service at one of the local churches (our church is morning services only). When we got home, I went to try on a pair of trousers I bought. Dh laid down on our bed while I was doing that, and fell asleep. We didn't make it to church tonight either. I didn't have the heart to wake him.
  
  I also watched 'Pay It Forward' tonight which is a great tear-jerker.

  Well folks-the fun bubble has burst-troubles begin...
  I have had ultra sound and it shows a 5 inch and a one inch lump in my innards..have to go to a specialist Wednesday and she will most likely schedule a bi opsy to see if it is cancer or not.Whether it is or is not cancer I will have major surgery.I am starting to make plans for the care of all my pets for while I am in the hospital and for if it is cancer.Life has been great up to now but I am ready to face the worst if need be.

  Well, we got finished early today, so I sent J and X outside to do one of their pocket money jobs (filling up the green-waste bins). Because they had worked so hard I decided to get in and help them. As I was leaning in toward one of the bins a large frond we'd cut off one of the tall grass plants sprung out and caught me right on the tip of the nose. OUCH!!! I have this scratch that goes for about 1cm right on the tip. It's funny in retrospect, but boy it hurts.
  
  Other news - dh is talking of going away for the weekend, getting babysitters for J and X and the animals. I love the idea, but I wish he would give me more notice, because it's always me who has to do the last-minute organising when dh decides he wants to be spontaneous. Then he wonders why I'm not as enthusiastic about it as he is. It's because the preparations (at such short notice) make me so stressed out that it takes me until Sunday evening to start enjoying the weekend.

  Hi Tina and all.I haven't gone to the new site. don't even know about it actually! Just that it's been a busy week. Last wekend I went away to a writing conference for 2 days. Itwas a livein, very basic (scout camp) but the meals were excellent, and the workshops very good. It was a CRime and Passion weekkend.. only in theory unfortunately.. well, the passion part I mean. We did workshops on romance writing and crime writing- lots of fun.It was in a big wildlife reserve.One evening I was out walking on my own and a grey kangaroo bounded right past me.Didn't see any other animals, but did see crimson rosellas, blue wrens and little honey eaters.
  I mentioned a while back that son Simon and his wife Sinead were off overseas. Have had several emails, and they're having a wonderful time.. saw a lot of the beautiful English country side, and then Scotland, and today they head for Ireland.Simon's birthday today too.

  We seemed to be more like family here..well our fall weather is beginning with cold nights but still warm days..25 cels today.Ralston is going with me to a country music live show tonight-surprise.
  Sad to loose favorite comedian John Ritter..don't know if you all got to see the "Threes company series" or not..and Johnny Cash ..but he was 71 and John Ritter was only 54..still sad to loose them both.They were great entertainers -each in his own right.

  Still here Tina (lol). We have been a bit slack, haven't we? Yes, very sad about Johnny Cash, he was truly a legend. I do know of John Ritter, from Three's Company and the 8 Simples Rule sitcom. The story goes he collapsed on the set of his sitcom with a tear in his aeorta (sp?). He was only 54, much too young.
  Kylie, I saw about your child and nits. Leigh had it when he was young and such a pain in the neck to get everything washed and cleaned. A hairdressing friend says to put one capful of Tea Tree oil into your shampoo bottle and this will stop it happening again. Apparently, nits don't like greasy hair - only clean unfortunately.
  It's been raining the last few days which is wonderful. They have eased the water restrictions a little bit which is good.
  Look forward to hearing others news as well.

  Someone "forgot" to pay us for six weeks (several thousand dollars) and so I haven't had a phone (for about three). When we finally paid the phone account Telstra tells us that we can have local calls only because of our poor payment record (this is the first time the phones been disconnected in several years (and before it was when dh was a uni student and I was a SAHM), so dh and I spent most of yesterday afternoon ringing up other telecommunications providers (dh spent two hours dealing with Telstra - on the mobile). GRRRR!!!!! How do you run a business where you have to fax stuff long distance if you can't call long distance? Can I sue the idiots who didn't pay us for screwing up our credit rating?

  Hi everyone..I was writing a message here last night, when the page went suddenly off line... in fact-POW- everything went off line, email and internet, so my message didnt go thru. It was about the 'pet revolution' here where I live.
  When I moved in here 7 years ago, no-one in this block of 10 flats had any sort of pets, the lease had the standard 'no pets clause" Well, after living for 4 years with out a cat I wasn't going to take it anymore and got a little grey kitten(Grania) I didn't ask the agent, I went straight to the OWNER- who was very nice about it and didnt mind at all.Then I got the second cat(or rather he got me!)
  Feller. Since then a guy in another flat got a cat, then another bloke got 2 beautiful big budgies, and now a another resident has a beautiful little Staffy puppy!

  I went and saw the Ragdolls at the Royal Adelaide Show and they are just gorgeous. I got to cuddle about 5 of them and one did the "Ragdoll flop" for me. I held two boys, both weighing about 9kgs and I thought Ted was a big boy (lol). Anway, Eils sent me a photo of her Honey who is a baby (about 6 months) and classified as a Bicolour and she is lovely. Please excuse the drooling lady holding her, that is yours truly, loving every moment of our cuddle(although poor Honey wasn't so sure).
  
  
  
  Also, my sister is coming along fine now. She went back to the doctor and he thinks her "tummy" problems she has now are stress and to get back to eating well. Doesn't help that she is on her own at the moment so much. She's actually gone to see Mum this weekend (from Melbourne) which I think will help. Mum just rang me and not a happy Mum finding that we had kept it from her.
  Tina, have these fires been anywhere near you, I hope not. One of my Mum's penfriends from years ago lives at Kamloops, near the Rockies and Mum thinks this is the area of the fires.
  Margaret, I saw the post about Paul drowning his dog and realised there was some sort of injoke going. The people seem nice and I will continue to keep visiting.

  We've had a busy week this week.
  
  The behaviouralist came on Monday and we've been working with China since. I did about 20mins training with her this morning. I'm planning on going out there this afternoon, after schoolwork, to do some more work with her, using her wetfood as rewards. The behaviouralist was very focussed on NILIF, not even her daily rations *grin*.
  
  We went out yesterday to have lunch with some friends we get together with regularly, one is also a homeschooler with four children and their second daughter and X are fast friends.
  
  Today, dh had to go to court. He was subpoinaed (sp?) to give evidence against a guy who the police had arrested for fraudulently dealing with credit cards. That's a story to tell another day when it's no longer a court issue.
  
  I was at the library yesterday afternoon and the librarian complained that I hadn't got in to pick up the books I'd had on hold and they'd all been put back on the shelves. She wasn't really interested that I'd rung the main library to say my car wasn't working and I would be a couple of days late. All the books were research for something I'm writing about a visually impaired woman, so now I have to re-order them. Grrrr!!!!

  I'm still here Susan.. and others. Just that things have been hectic lately with family members having flu (not me-touch wood) and a lot of 'extras' for work.. just don't seem to have been able to catch up. Youngest son,Simon and wife Sinead left for London on Tuesday.. got an email from Si this afternoon.YES!! to say they arrived safely, but that London is hot and overcast and they pretty jet lagged, but did manage to get to the Museum and Kensington Gardens.
  Lots of rain here, and coooold, but daffodillies in the garden and lovely pink blossom on the trees.

  I hope everyone is okay - Kylie, Ellie, Tina, Dudo, Margaret and others.
  Well we've had lots of rain and very good soaking rain. Good for the garden and oranges. The weather has been a little warmer this week.
  I'm off to Adelaide tomorrow to go to the Royal Adelaide Show. One of the girls on Cat World is showing her Ragdolls and I'm going to have a look at them, I've never seen a Ragdoll in the fur.
  Leigh is coming home tomorrow night for the weekend, it will be good to catch up.
  He's been offered a permanent job at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (after his GNP finishes) and thinks he may put off his overseas trip until next April. He will have been working there for 12 months in March and will get 6 weeks paid annual leave, so will wait until then to leave. They know about his overseas trip but are so short staffed that they will be grateful for an extra couple of months.
  Hope the new addition, Hamlet is settling in, I hope your back to normal now Ellie with your scare the other week, Kylie I hope China's training is going okay and Tina I hope you are enjoying the last bit of Summer and Margaret I hope your weather is cooler now (I saw on the news that England had had 40C temperatures).

  Susan..so very glad your sister is ok-my hubbys oldest brother was diagnosed with cancer last week-they operated right away-found an ulcer that burst-no cancer-we can't figure out how they can say cancer one minute and scare his family-then it turns out to be burst ulcer..still serious because of infection but not like cancer.
  Ellie-too bad your cat wasn't larger..10 years ago some friends in Halifax came home from church..their dog was sitting by the hall coat closet-they noticed blood coming from under the door-called police-police opened door to find an intruder passed out "but alive"seems the dog bit the fellows finger off.
  Dudo-I love hamlet already and haven't even seen him..I call puppies and babies traps..you see one - you want one !
  I have a beautiful visitor by my brook most mornings-it is a young deer-it stands on the opposite side of the brook from me and stares for a while then runs into the woods..most deer won't come around that close if you have dogs.

  Well, just had to put this down- I'm besotted!!
  Hamlet( the new pup) arrived 3 weeks early- and is having a rough settling in- but he's very cute!To me, he's very cocker spaniel'ish- that gorgeous soft fur, little jowly bits on his face, loong ears, and the roundest, softest feet...His colour tho, is coolie- he's a red merle( like a red heeler, with dark blotches) he has green eyes, and a very loud voice!
  I think he's meant to be here for some reason- my old cocker cross mate "Mitchell" (who was my constant shadow in the City, and for a couple of years up here,) had the nick name of the little Prince-(he used to look down his nose at us "Plebs")- anyway, this pup arrives, already called "Hamlet"- a prince's name, and he's only little-- well, I lok at those spaniel eyes, and then at him lying under my chair, or sleeping on one of my jumpers and i feel a sense of fate.... We'll see.
  Kieran( my large "lap dog" ) is a bit put out- he doesn't like pups at the best of times, and cause this one's inside occasionally, he's a bit grumpy. Hamlet sleps outside, in a shed near the house- has a carton with a wool filled mattress, and some old jumpers, his toys, and bones- not bad accomodation in a hurry! There is a pen which he will go in when he's a bit older, all being well.
  I was going to be all firm- He wasn't to be inside as yet, and was going to be used to being nice and independent! HAH..my Mum( NO MORE dogs inside! Dirty damn things...) has him inside at every opportunity, and sitting on her lap(she never does that!)I've got no say..."Here's a sock for hamlet to chew" has Hamlet got enough food?" Where's the spare h/w bottle?" "Give him some of Kieran's toys..." This pup will need to be vaccinated against spoiling, I think!!
  I guess its that he's a different type- he is a sort of dog to cuddle, unlike the "working "'ones outside
  Hopefully he'll stay well, and grow into a decent little man.
  More later..
  Oh, The little (human) baby has a name- (I'll call her "A" )and is doing well- Grandparents get custody next week.She's drinking from a bottle now.Her little brother loves his sister, and nurses her when he visits at the hospital.

  I mentioned a few messages down about my flat being broken into one night..but didnt mention the reaction of the cats.They both bolted outside at the disturbance. Feller wandered back in 3 hours later(4am) looking quite unperturbed. Grania came back in a lot sooner, but she was like a bottlebrush, huge eyes, and fur stickking up all over.She walked every place the guy had trodden, sniffing out his scent. Thenext day she was 'on alert' all day, every noise outside made her fur rise and her eyes were huge and watching the door all the time.. honestly if she had been a cat the size of a rottweiler I reckon she would
  have ripped him to shreds.

  Hi all. Well things look good for my sister. The tests she had done showed up something else than what the scan showed, thank goodness. Does that make sense?? I really don't want to go into gruesome detail but she had a small polyp removed and according to the doctor, these are very very rarely cancerous. We still have to wait on the details of the results but the doctor didn't seem too upset by what she found. Thanks for the support girls, it has really been a very stressful two weeks and by the time I got to Melbourne, Sherida was totally convinced the worst possible outcome would happen. She wasn't eating much, so good sister me (lol) got some good food into her and of course, myself.
  We actually had a couple of sunny days but still very cool and much needed rain, in Melbourne and here so my husband tells me.
  The dogs and cats (and husband) were glad to see my home and now I just have to catch up on some much needed sleep.
  Oh, and Sherida's tests were on Wednesday with a full GA and on Thursday morning at 4.30am we ended up at Emergency as she felt light headed and generally unwell. Thank goodness all was well and we just overreacted, better to be safe than sorry.

  Haven't been here for a while.. it's been a very stressy week with work and different friends problems, culminating with my flat being broken into on Wed night! I was here.. in bed..and the bloke came into my room!! No harm done, and I'm perfectly okay, he got away with minimum stuff, my watch, an (empty.HA!) hand bag but my BOSS"S mobile phone. I had it for a week to take the office messages while she was on leave and it was charging on the kitchen bench.He took both the phone and the charger. I haven't been able to contact here yet to tell her it has gone.
  Still feel kind of weird.. but as I said, basically okay.

  Next week I will be going to Melbourne (Tuesday) and not sure when I will be back. My sister rang a while ago and had seen a gynaecologist (sp?). She's been having a bad time with "woman problems". Unfortunately the news wasn't great, she has to go into hospital next Wednesday for more tests to discount or diagnose cancer. Her husband and son left last Saturday for Italy and her other son works long hours, so I am going over for some moral support as I feel she shouldn't be on her own. She's asked her husband not to come back to Australia until she finds out the diagnosis (her choice not his).
  As you can imagine I am very worried for her, we are quite close and I am hoping the news will be good.
  I just don't know what we say to Mum who is 84, Sherida wants to wait until a final diagnosis is carried out and not worry her if all is okay. I can understand this and I think will have to respect my sister's decision.
  I am trying to muster all the positive thoughts I can at the moment, but having been through this with Dad (liver cancer) a few years ago, I am just so upset for Sherida and do hope all is okay.

  We needed rain but not quite this much but can't complain..we had 33 nice fine days interspersed by only a day and a half of rain before this week.Been having a ball..my best summer for years..been taking in all the fairs,going to beaches and to the lake ..not staying overnight so much because I was invited to a lot of birthday parties etc.
  Everything is so lush and green and clean looking..gardens growing nicely..best wishes to all !!!

  Hi- firstly, the little girl, (still unnamed by the parents!) is putting on weight, and although having a little bit of assistance with breathing, is ok.
  Now- here is something i don't need at all- but am looking forward to--( Heard of dog- aholics- they're like alcoholics- can't stop when they should?) a puppy ! yes, I know, we have heaps...but..this one is the result of a liason between our Fred, the blue merle coolie,( the best yard dog around!) and a red cocker spaniel bitch!(oops) anyway, this was discovered after the fact, and the people saved me a pup. How could I say NO? All being well he will be here in about 4 weeks- he;s 6 weeks old now. He's red, spotty, with long ears- he's about 250 km away, so I haven't seen him- only found out last night.
  "don't count your chickens..etc" BUT, I was thinking this morning- I may try & teach him to sniff out termites- with the cocker mum, he should be a sniffy little beast!We shall wait & see.. another dog AAArgh.
  We are also recieving some nice funiture from my Dad- he is moving from Adelaide to Queensland soon, if their house sells, and he is giving my brother & I the big furniture pieces- hallstand, sideboards, chairs.
  Speaking of brother- he's home for a few days, then off again next w/end for about 3 weeks.poor person - he's busy this week fixing cars, cutting up dead trees for firewood,dashing to town for a haircut, and to see mates who've almost forgotten what he looks like...
  Still- someone's got to earn the money..oh- I was tutoring 3 kids this year, but the Mum of 2 of them has terminated my contract-mid term, so I'm very broke! My Mum,(on a pension ) earns more than I do ,at the moment!!

  Well, off to Adelaide tomorrow to take Mum to the accountant. I have talked her into getting one of those flash armchairs with electronic buttons to lay it back, a massager inbuilt and heat pads. We will go and suss them out. I told her at 84 she needed a better lounge chair and I've already helped her pick a better bed (her's was about 20 years old).
  The orange picking is going well and halfway through, the weather has been very good to us.
  Dudo, how's the baby going now? The premmy one in your earlier post.
  Had some good news yesterday, a friend's daughter won $150,000.00 on a scratchy ticket. Her and her partner are mid 20's with two small children (she actually went to school with our son). I am so pleased for them, they say they will build a home now. In this area, that amount of money would buy a very nice block of land and home.
  Had some not so good news as well. The lady who runs our local animal shelter had a house fire last week. Unfortunately, 6 of her pets (3 dogs and 3 cats) were in the home and didn't make it. She is a lovely lady and isn't at all concerned about her home, just her pets. It's heartbreaking. I just can't imagine losing 6 pets at once, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it....

  Could you send any spare kind thoughts /prayers the way of a little baby girl born during the week to some one I know. She is 8 wks, prem, but breathing on her own, but at 2kg. has a way to go yet..she doesn't have a name at this stage either, poor little mite.
  Her mum is not well either, she's had some trouble with substance abuse, and her health is not what it could be. the bub has a brother ( verry cute toddler who's a friend of mine) who lives with his grandparents.
  Thank you- this little girl needs all the help she can get, at the rocky start to an uncertain future!

  it is just 5:20 am..have to make my days longer so I don't miss any of this wonderful weather..22 days of sunshine and only 2 and a half of rain.Learning to cope with this unusual
  heat-secret is to stay at the saltwater beaches as much as possible or else the lake.
  Hubby likes the heat so much he hardly ever puts the air cond. on-he is happy watching tv while I have been running around-most of our beaches have a fish and chip bus selling lots of goodies but my weakness is fish and chips.I was to a nice parade and a day of agricultural exhibition"fair"a few birthday parties-next week is Mahone Bays "wooden boat festival"
  I know all this won't last-hubby is usually not in the type of health that I can run around like this but I am taking advantage of it while I can.Last 30 days seemed like one big party to me.

  it's hard to stay on top of things in this land so harsh and brown,
  Just seems to be the "little things" that try and drag you down.

  but, steamed awhile, it's OK-we 'bushies'won't be beaten!
  Paddocks look all nice and green, but now the wind will blow,
  poor little plants will all dry out,and have no chance to grow.
  A goat got in, and chewed a rose- a"war-paint"climbing one
  which was planted back in '48- when the garden was first begun.
  what else is there, to make me cross?I've just to look around-
  the rain pushed all the rubbish tip to lie scattered on the ground...
  no matter what we have to do, we never seem to get ahead-

  Whilst driving home in semi dark, I thought about my nose.
  It's a useful tool, for smelling scents, and not only from a rose!
  Along the road were fragrant puffs of red and floating dust,
  carrying scents, which I could sort out, just.!
  The scent of earth, still slightly damp,and green and growing things.
  The sort of scents ,which sometimes cause my heart to sing.
  I travel then,much slower,down a hill, to where
  smells hang low,and seem to drift in heavy, colder air.
  Here are scents of orange peel, and of a manure heap-
  Above me is a feedlot, where many cattle sleep!
  Then there are the sharp, clean scents of charcoal smoke and burning- now what's around the corner where this road
  home has me turning?
  It's a smell of gum leaves, and of nothing but the grass, I'm on the open plain now, and travelling quite fast.
  
  Now I smell our chimney smoke, and dogs and sheep and dinner!
  My nose has got me home again - I think I'm on a winner!!
  
  
  Just a few thoughts as I was driving home last night! Enjoy!

  Well, we made it to dance today, despite thinking we might not, and back home without problems. We ended up with a lift with the head dance teacher because she had to come in early anyway and drives straight past our house. Then the mother of one of X's friends dropped us home (very grateful because it is out of her way).
  
  We think the rings have gone in my car (dh changed the oil and it's worse), so it's off the road for now and dh is away for the weekend.
  
  My back is still aching from when I hurt it on Monday, so I'm thinking I won't bother making the effort to arrange transport tomorrow to get to church. I think I'll just stay in bed instead.

  With life just moving along, I think I forgot to mention that J and X both got Commended in their exams. J got 60 and X got 67 (how much did the difference have to do with J chatting in the exam? Hmmm...).
  
  They have their first lesson following the exam on Saturday, so it will be interesting to see what their teacher has to say.
  
  That's if we get there. My car isn't working at the moment and dh is away for the weekend. It will be interesting to see what I can organise.

  Ok, I keep forgetting about this site - LOL, I remembered because Susan mentioned the chat shop in a post on the dogsonline forum (i think it was)!
  
  I can't keep track of all my message boards/email account/messengers/etc/etc lol
  
  So I've moved my bookmark to another section so hopefully will see me around more often now (or unfortunately depending on which way you look at it i guess;))
  
  Everyone here is well so I cant ask for any more than that:)
  
  I noticed people are still posting poetry (and good stuff too!) so I thought I'd post one I wrote a few weeks back, well its half a poem actually I was in a doctors waiting room waiting for a friend. Not the best, but the last time I posted I promised I would dig up an old poem LOL!
  
  time spent in
  doctor's waiting rooms
  wooden chairs and magazines
  
  sometimes noisy kids
  and the health posters
  -going overseas?
