Great post... Its funny that some (not even the majority here) of you self proclaimed indie rockers base your opinions of the Pumpkins from their commercially presented material... so you show yourself to only know the pumpkins from watching MTV or the radio, how "indie".... some of you make me sick, listen to the music you fucking like, if it sparks something in you then good...

>Its fascinating how all you adorable indie darlings
>who despise The Pumpkins for writing some simple and
>universal pop songs and for being "commercial" (which
>they never were) can only focus on the commercial,
>universal, simple, and pop aspects of them. You know,
>there's more to the Pumpkins than what the media

>base your opinion on what it presents... isn't that
>too obvious? That would be like saying Oscar Wilde
>was merely an immoral homosexual... but hopefully we
>all know better... in retrospect? Yes... that was an
>insult implying an anachronism (you). So no, none of
>you are elite nor are you intelligent or in any way a
>representation of yourself... you're the
>representation of a hypocritical scene... no more.
>You conform just as much and are just as much
>"sell-outs"... though you "sell-out" to something
>unheard of and obscure... so maybe that makes you
>cheap? Or not. But you get the point.

>Sample non-radio Pumpkins lyrics:

>from "Vanity"

>lovers form dead excuse
>and blur the line with soul abuse
>my lonesome lines just have no use around here
>new skin may hold you in
>but the old skin still turns us on
>flicker fades the nitrate dawn to wear
