My opinion is that Taylor came across as too "old school" Miss America. This was reinforced by the updo and because she was the only one of the Top 10 that had any real talent like you used to see at Miss America. If this had been 10 years ago, she would have won hands down. This new regime has an agenda, and traditional ain't it. Plus, they've downgraded talent so much that it's almost a liability if you have any. The top 2 finishers were a girl who gave a little talk, and another girl who hopped around the stage with a string on a stick.It's pretty clear what they are looking for. -- Unofficial Miss NC Messageboard

If you'll notice on the tape, she was one of the first to congratulate the winner. That, coupled with the fact that I'm sure she was quite disappointed does not imply the type of person you describe. When a contestant is perceived as a "threat" they are usually not liked. It's a weird conundrum., because at this point, if you keep to yourself and stay focused, you are called rude and standoffs.
