I laughed when I read your post Cena, I can so relate.

I guess what I meant was I'm no financially better off for art school, but I really did love it! It's so nice to be around other artists, I miss that alot and the different studios. It's not like you can do a bronze in your living room, for instance! I think that kind of interaction with other artists is really motivating, for me at least. I didn't like MU near as much as Columbia, really to big.....I like a more intimate and close knit, one on one "learning environment". Maybe I'll go back....

I'm pretty much like you....whip something out. Those works always seem the best. More real and fresh. And rarely keep anything, I only wish I had at least taken pictures.

That's very cool about your painting! Can you post a pic? I'd love to see it! Any of your work! I'm sure you are very talented! Maybe you really should think about pursuing it again?

I remember one year at MU I left my entire semesters work for final critique, well I had talked to the instructor about not being able to pick them up at the designated time because of work. He promised to put them in his office till the next morning. He forgot and someone stole 12 paintings! I never got them back. I was so mad. I was thinking that they are probably in that room you described?! LOL I hated that stupid instructor, he once told me after seeing a completed painting that it would be better if I "added a door"....??? This was painting 5 or something and subject matter wasn't something an instructor gets into at that point. I mean, I would really have had to repaint the entire thing, light source, etc. etc. I refused, HE refused to give me credit for the painting. His class was the only one I ever got a B in. He used to paste road kill on canvases, I kid you not.

Your story about your car brought back a memories also. The first night I got my jeep I took the head of the department for a foster parenting program(I was a licensed foster parent for kids with "problems", but never was able to "do" it because I met my...gosh..whatever he is now, ex? sigh, ouch.) for a spin. He was a friend who wanted to be more, if you know what I mean. That jeep had the same problem as your old car. What a looooong, coooooold, uncooooooomfortable night down by the river, miles and miles from anywhere, that was.... I can laugh now. ;^)
