Veggies seem to do better if their roots can spread, so maybe a half barrel would do the trick. And many of them are heavy feeders when being container grown.

I don't have much luck, but part of that is because my Siamese likes all the yummy, crunchy green things I grow. He is not very understanding of pole beans needing to grow to make the wonderful beans he enjoys so much...

I have seen some photos where people have split open large bags of potting soil, and planted right in the bag. If you had plenty of room and didn't mind a bit of mess that could work, I guess. I will have to think on this.

What in particular were you wanting to grow? Or just anything?
