North Dakota will remain a Big Sky affiliate for football for the 2018 and 2019 seasons before moving to the MVFC in 2020.

I started this as changes for the next several years. Yes, they are still in the Big Sky, but they are moving to the Summit/MVFC in the future. This is a known issue.

Tarleton State looks like they are getting an invite to the WAC in the next couple of months. Just need to lineup The Southland to accept them as a football affiliate.

Okay, let's break this all down..

[b]2018[/b]

Division 1:

-Campbell joins it's current home for all other sports, the Big South, from the Pioneer League
-North Alabama, an incoming member of the Atlantic Sun, will join the FCS ranks as an Independent program in 2018 and then joins the Big South in 2019
-Idaho becomes the first school to go from FBS to FCS as they join it's current for all other sports, the Big Sky
-New Mexico State becomes an FBS Independent
-Liberty moves up from FCS to FBS Independent status

Division 2:

-Tiffin leaves the GLIAC to join the Great Midwest
-North Greenville starts a partnership with the Gulf South
-Cheney has dropped their football program and is leaving the NCAA altogether.
-Dixie State leaves the Great Northwest to join the RMAC.
-Savannah State is heading back to Division 2 with hopes of rejoining the CIAA in the process

Division 3

-University of New England starts play officially. They're in the Commonwealth Coast Conference
-Alvernia begins play as well. They'll be in the Middle Atlantic Conference
-Finlandia (the school, not the vodka) moves from Independence to the MIAA
-Washington-St. Louis joins the CCIW

NAIA

-The Central States Football League is no more as the Sooner Athletic Conference has absorbed the CSFL alongside adding Ottawa of Arizona, who starts football this year.
-Also starting programs this year are Keiser, Lawrence Tech, Indiana Wesleyan and Clarke.
-Jamestown leaves the North Star for the GPAC

Savannah State was never in the CIAA, they were members if the SIAC.

I'm not aware of any rumors involving Bentley or SNHU moving from D2 to D1. Certainly not confirmed like Merrimack's move out of and Franklin Pierce's into the NE-1 0 are.

Tarleton State also been looked at by WAC officials and UTRGV seemed to have put of releasing the football study for a bit. Grabbing Tarleton State, Dixie State and UTRGV adding football could be a start of an FCS football conference. WAC might be in talks with the Big Sky to let Southern Utah to join the WAC, and bring UC-Davis and Cal Poly to join the WAC as football affiliates. Azusa Pacific could be added later and Central Washington could join the Big Sky. WAC could be losing Chicago State and UMKC which seems odd that the WAC could be adding 3 schools soon from D2. Metro State in Denver is the other.
