I don't know what that is on the helmet logo, but it does not appear to closely match the logo from the sportslogos website. The helmet logo looks circular or oval-shaped but within it the dark color is concentrated towards the center.

The black helmet in the video looks very similar to the helmet in pictures.
On another helmet site, the black helmet is referred to as the Pittsburgh Gladiators pre-season helmet.
They played a 2 quarter exhibition game against the Chicago Bruisers a week before the 1987 season started. Denver and Washington played a game as well

But I have been told by the ArenaFan Facebook page that the picture is the Vise vs the Bruisers.

Also the maroon helmets in the video are the ones used for the Rockford Metros vs the Chicago Politicians if the old e-mail you found is correct. No sure if the same logo was used.

The other helmet site has confirmed that the gladiator logo is the logo on the Vise helmets. He has it posted the Vise logo in a different section of his pages. He believes the incorrect Vise logo might be part of the Politicians or Metros logo.
