Thanks, I'm kind of surprised they can move up this late - less than seven months before the next football season.

Of course now I wonder if the other 'Dakota Four' schools will move up. Apparently South Dakota State moved from Division II to Division I-FCS the same year NDSU did (2004), but South Dakota and North Dakota both waited another four years.

I also wonder if the Montana FCS schools will do likewise, and would Idaho consider moving back "up" again? Nobody seems to like being left behind by their rivals.

Making the jump to FBS in seven months with (I presume) a 2026 schedule that's already drawn up is going to be a logistical nightmare, but clearly NDSU is serious. They're also applying for a waiver to be bowl and playoffs eligible for 2026 as well.

I'd be VERY surprised if suitcases aren't already packed at FCS schools waiting for an invite.
