Subject: Strange comment

Take a look at this comment from the Freep article on the IPFW game and tell me if this doesn't seem an odd thing to say:

At the time it was scheduled, I didn't think they would have the kind of season they've had," Oakland coach Greg Kampe said. IPFW "looked like a good team, but I didn't want to play a great team at this point.."

Why wouldn't you want to play a great team at this point (end of the season with nothing at stake except getting your young players some work versus a better opponent)?Sounds like Kampe's confidence is in the crapper.

Did anyone else attend the game yesterday? Inn reality, IPFW was one sorry team, they really deserved to lose by at least 30pts. Yikes that was one ugly game.
