This was the most powerful alarming piece I've ever read. I read it earlier today - around 2 PM-ish... at work - and had to hide in the bathroom for the rest of my lunch period because I felt so small. I've been that child - but I've also been the one taunting at one point or another.

There was a boy that was in my class. He really really liked me - but he was (to a school kid) obnoxious about it - and my god, people were so cruel to him. They did the most soul shattering things to him - and even I, a time or two, said things in the spur of the moment that I wish I could take back and just hug him, instead of scold him.

I don't know where he is now, or what he's doing - I just know that we ruined a good part of that boy, his heart, and his faith in himself, and my god I wish I could take it all back.

Powerful poem, forced me to feel and remember things long lost and forgotten. Thank you thank you thank you for writing and sharing this piece. I think I'm going to call him this week, if I can locate him, and just "talk".
