Subject: Tigers' poor shooting is contagious...

...and it has spread to the girls' team. Poor shot selection, horrible free throw shooting, and bad defense led to a 77-72 loss in Long Beach last night. As usual, Gillian d'Hondt led the way with about 17 points, but point guard Selena Ho missed critical charity tosses in crunch time. I was impressed by Andrea Nederostek's play coming off her ankle sprain. She had 8 points. If it weren't for all that, UOP should have won going away. LBSU could not connect on breaks. Either the long bombs were overthrown or ended up at the cherry-picker's feet. On our side, we tried to many long ones and had the ball stolen too many times down low. But at no time did the Tigers give up, which bodes well going into Irvine. I expect UOP to come out angry and run it up on the UCers. GO TIGERS!!!
