Calvin Arnold Finishes Fine Year

By: Russ Blake
Date: February 22, 2002
Calvin Arnold, a developing 6-9, 200 pound senior forward from the Hun School in Princeton, N.J., enjoyed a fine season for Jon Stone's program in 2001-2002.
Arnold scored 12 points on Wednesday in Hun's 66-61 loss to St. Benedict's. A highly skilled big man who sports a deft touch from the perimeter, Arnold is also a good passer who can put the ball on the deck a bit.
Arnold's biggest challenge at the Division I level will be add strength and size to his frame, as he is not a consistent finisher in traffic at this stage. But his skill level and upside make him an intriguing prospect to many at this juncture.
Coach Stone told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that Arnold had fall offers from Vermont and St. Mary's (CA). He has taken his lone official visit to Brown University, and others in the mix include Princeton, Dartmouth, Harvard and Pacific.
A native of Sebastopal, Calif., Arnold came to Hun with a 4.0 GPA and has scored close to 1300 on the SAT, making him an ideal Ivy/Patriot League target from an academic standpoint.
Arnold and Hun's season ended on Wednesday in the loss to St. Benedict's, meaning that he will now have some time to take some other official visits if he so desires (he has four left).
IR will keep you posted, so stay tuned.
