He did practically the same thing in 2009 vs the jests, stupidly waste 2 challenges on questionable (at best situations) in the 1st half.

Not only do you keep it going on the 3rd & less than 1 attempt to keep trying to establish the OL momentum & ground game (if nothing else), if you want to see if there's anything to really challenge there (& only in the first half) just call yourself a meaningless time out & look over the replay. I still can't find it addressed anywhere that you couldn't then also throw your challenge flag coming off of a timeout?

Anybody (fans, players, armchair QBs) is going to look at Lewis for this and be saying "You looked like a skittish imbecile quack" for it ... something that further provokes in him the trademark gee-I-sure-fucked-up-there "lost kid on the milk carton" vibe.

That & the Nugent miss weren't in themselves back-breakers, more like niggling headscratchers, but then when something really bad did happen (Lurch's fluke miracle pick6) then at that point it begins to contitute a trending avalanche momentum wave going to halftime.

Then all it took then was Crocker's dropping the 2nd half INT in his hands for the floodgates to completely bust open. The Bengals simply HAD to build & keep a lead in this game to have any hope of rope-a-doping themselves into another win. Once Houston got a lead then it allowed them to become too multidimensional w/o taking risks for Stripes' D to somehow completely contain all phases. The margin of error for the Tissue Paper Tigers was (as always this year) just paper thin.

Dalton's INT on 4th down was actually a better play for us than if it had hit the ground, more like a punt. You take the downfield shot there on 4th down there because an INT is just like a punt. JJoe was actually making a negative play by catching it (something he rarely did with us when it would count as a positive play). You can't hold that against AD or Marvin for going for it there.
