Hue was obviously a "players' coach" unable to instill discipline, what with his team setting the NFL record for team penalties & yards. With him clearly being a players' coach, his alleged strength would have had to be getting his players to (over)perform to bring them home to the playoffs, but instead, they collapse & lose their way out despite an ultimately & eminently winnable scenario. So what does Hue do? He promptly throws his buddies, the players, under the bus for this & starts trumpeting that he wants even MORE power & influence in how things are done going forward?

New GM wants to install stability & discipline in an organization famous for lacking same, so how does he do that with a loose cannon players' buddy coach who apparently thinks(?) it wise to burn that particular bridge with his former buddies.

What RM sees he needs is a clean house with a Coughlinesque tone-setting disciplinarian boot camper HC that he's already familiar with & can trust.
