the wife is wrapping presents with her kids and the husband walks in. She asks, "What did you get your parents?" and he replies, "I don't know, what did you buy them?"

Run of the mill presents this year -- waterproof hiking boots and some semi-dressy maternity clothes for Toni; lincoln logs, tinker toys, a robot for Sam. Two videos -- Aristocats and the full set of Schoolhouse Rocks ("Mr. Morton is the Subject of My Sentence" easily the most underrated). Some family members got framed professional photographs of Sam (I know, how vain!).

We're having a party for about 30 people on Saturday (I'm cooking up some jambalaya). Toni's dad comes to town for Christmas. We leave for L.A. next Friday for five days with my family. Should be a cool time.
